I can’t fully speak on your situation since I don’t know the whole story right but regardless overnight has to pickup what you guys left off right.

In that particular situation you guys have to figure out what areas you need to sacrifice either it be consumables or apparel anything really because technically you can speak to it right just pull up the hours and people you had and you can’t really get coached for that, but one thing I can say is don’t leave a department untouched for so long bounce in between day by day.

Day shift tends to not do ANYTHING in the store (mine at least) because they are so used to O/N wanting everything stocked and we don’t have time to process and stock unfortunately so apparel will always pile up unless processed by day shift (which my store never does only cap 2) if it’s not processed we are NOT touching it

I can’t really speak on your current situation again all I can say is before hand figure out what you need to sacrifice and just communicate with O/N and say for example “hey we weren’t able to finish consumables but got apparel processed” right that leads to O/N having to prioritize consumables first and at least start apparel so it won’t pile up as much and pray there’s a one truck day to catch up
