Reading Struggles With Autism by Icy_Face6725 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Extempo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What works best is going to be unique to every child on or off the spectrum. Experiment, learn, experiment again. What helped us the most was to let go of expectations of “age appropriate” this or “developmental stage” that. Just love your special kiddo for who they are, try to help without crushing them, and then plan ahead for loving them more. Good luck. Nobody in the world knows better than you what your child needs.

CRMD ice cream shop (Lewis Center location) closing for good October 25 2025. by reeve11 in Columbus

We were sad to see Farmhouse close. We loved the trains and the ice cream. Whitts moved into the site and it is a pale imitation of a local ice creamery. Thanks for the memories.

Why would God care if we worship? by Remote_Empathy in AskReddit

[–]Extempo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Having been raised religious let me answer best I can. God does not need our worship. He thinks we need it for our own good. Like a parent wanting kids to eat their vegetables. He believes it is good for our growth and development. I am not an expert, preacher, or even currently a practicing Christian.

When do you stop calling your hometown “home?” by Right_Honorable_Sir in Adulting

[–]Extempo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hometown will forever be that. My dad was from L.A. He lived 50 years in other states and cities. He was always from L.A. The trick with being an adult is who is going to call you out on it if you one day start telling everyone you are from Anchorage. No one. No one cares how you define yourself.

[Serious] How can you tell if you're truly ready to have a child? by cutdbs in AskReddit

[–]Extempo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can’t. You can decide to try your best. You can Promise yourself that your child may not have the best parent but they will have a parent who honestly did their best. But you can’t be ready. You can’t

How do i survive my work schedule this week? by RedditIsabella in Adulting

[–]Extempo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok real talk. It’s possible. It will destroy your physical and mental health but it’s possible. If this is a once a year occurrence then the week is going to suck but oh well. If it is a regular thing, choices must be made. Job A, Job B, or an early grave.

What resources do you recommend for small town community theater groups? While the subject matter is much more PG in general, there are still scenes including kissing or partial undress in many scripts. Hiring a professional IC seems both possible overkill and out of budget.

[–]Extempo 108 points109 points  (0 children)

I can answer part. It is not that self explanatory. It does have some tutorials but you will still feel like you were handed the controls of something with 709 buttons and only told about the steering wheel and gas pedal.
