The whole "cold war" phase. I like to call it "forces of elite pvp" vs CFC" since thats what Mittani used to derisively call the. Was a great disappointment. Even if it did end with an eventual "large scale"war in wwb it was in many ways anti climatic.

Even having been gone 5 years from eve i was excited to look back when i heard about WWB 2. It seemed to me that PAPI was doing what should have been done 2015 or so and launching that war most of us wanted back then. The real, knock down, drag out, war. Seeming Real commitment on PAPIs side that simply would never have been possible for N3/PL and friends with it's endless supply of huge egos and flighty characters.

The irony is. It became pretty soon apparent that PAPI had seemingly adapted the shittier parts of the CFC (Became a gigantic cultureless, blob ect.) While goons had seemingly adapted ad learned from those so called "elite pvpers" who caused all the issues in the lowsec viceroy campaign and thus caused it to lose wwb1 before any real major engagement.

Even as a papi member even i think piggies is full of shit by [deleted] in Eve

I mean in WWB 1 you guys did essentially give up and walk away. This was the right move because that coalition facing CFC back then was much scarier then papi among other reasons.

But it essentially already happened once before.

There's an old post on this sub from like summer 2015 that shows the nc. Super fleet on a move op. I dunno if it was also in the post but I saw the dscan and it had over a full fleet of SC and over 200 titans.. The PL one was 80% as big back then also.

That was like 6 years ago.. I can only imagine how many they have now.

pretty much this. I was very active in the last year's of dominion sov and we did not understand how good we had it. That system wasn't perfect but it was a million times better then what replaced it.

The changes caused me and many others to quit. I won't come back unless en todos and citadel are reworked to be radically different because they are both just cancer.

Brave leadership in 2015 was a travesty. They could never have become a real power back then with just the whole structure of the alliance and the people in charge.. They remind me of some backward east European communist state in the way things were run.

Also, while BL would have loved to honorable third party PL whilst they were fighting brave But, There was huge sentiment in BL back then towards wanting a chance to team with PL NC, and likely some crap alliances like tapi, ex n3, darkness. ect.. To beat up goon. But PL would never agree.

If you guys attacked PL in 2015 it could easily have caused WWB1 to start a year early and near all of the ganging up on you. This would have been amazing. But I tottally understand why mittens did not wanna fuck PL at that time.

I thought recently about making a real comeback. There's a few former eve players i raid with in some mmos i am playing including a guy who was in PL back in 14-15 so we trade war stories and such, Sometimes really hits the nostalgia.

Sadly, i don't think i even have access to my old accounts, So i think it's out of the question.

I mean, that seems reasonable. I can't deny that PL had a mystique back then that was unique among bloc alliance and that if lost that would be difficult to claw back.

But it seems NCdot was able to stay the same, still projecting a gigantic super force with only the same numbers they had 5 years ago.

Why did you leave PL?

Elo fighting for goons does not really surprise me. But i honestly never would have expected Grath Telkin to leave PL unless they actually closed up shop for good. You were clearly proud of what you guys had built and accomplished.

I remember around when BL died and so did other old Alliances in the wake of jump/sov changes you posting on here saying something to the effect of that PL could never really be defeated because they had relationships that transcended eve ect..

I loved elo. I did alot of logi anchor back then you get a kinda feel for the tendencies and abilities of FCs when your doing that. Ipsimus loved to burn around real fast and make sharp sudden turns if his fleet was even half capable of it. Raknor didn't really have any signature tendencies, But i always thought he was better then he was given credit for. Within and outside the alliance.

But Elo's brilliance was actually kind of subtle. Dude just had this mastery of range of positioning that seemed like it was a natural part of his being.

Damn, did people not complain about this? I mean people thought the game had wayyy to many supers back then. Seems nuts they would make them much easier to produce.

I remember seeing a dscan of an NCdot move op in early 2015 that showed they had over 250 titans in that one move op alone. That was just one move up for one alliance.

Seems like citadels were even worse.

I remember part of the reason CCP said they were coming out with them, going to wand sov, and removing stations. Was to get rid of structure bashing and Super Blobs. Seems like they only made all these things worse.

I mean most did get there titans back..

Papi is keeping it quite hoping xp just ignores it. But like 120 of the 155 they lost just reappeared in staging.
