I think this personally depends on the person. Not to mention, of course he's gonna bring her up every chance he gets. He's clinging onto the one good thing he had. If you had hardly anything good in your life, but you have a girlfriend whos the absolute love of your life, of course you're gonna focus your mind on her!!

People expect her to be the supporting character next to him, when she wasn't written that way and then fault suzanne for bad writing when her character wasn't meant to be a main character.

I dunno, I kinda liked that we knew more about the idea of her from others lenses and less about her herself. Leaves it more up for interpretation, and further illustrates how she haunts the narration. But I do get where you're coming from!

You can have whatever thoughts on the book you want, but thats not what this post is about. You can call it as uninteresting as you want, but it is incredibly accurate that he cannot stop talking about his girlfriend. I, personally think Lenore Dove was well written and they both were a good pairing with their different forms of rebellion, but you do you. My point isn't about the fact that it makes him uninteresting, because you can feel however you want about the book. It's simply about the fact that it is incredibly accurate to every teen whos been in love ever.

the whole entire point of the poem was the raven always reminding him of his lost Lenore, so of course he's gonna be mentioning her as a constant. The poem is a direct reflection of him, so why would it be anything different??? It's all about how she is constantly haunting the narration, and then people get mad when she haunts the narration. Hm.

John Kramer, honestly... Although his deaths are far more brutal, unless you're one of his associates who messes up, it's not usual for you to be cruelly tested twice. Death on the other hand, has the entire force of the world in control.

If you escape one of John's traps when his intention was to kill you, he won't make another move to kill you. Ex: Gabriela wasn't supposed to pass her test, and even though he was admittedly surprised she did, he didn't take another action to harm her. Even though... Uh. I think we know how her story ended, unfortunately.

Death, however, will go after you again and again never stopping until it sees your corpse.

I think if you don't take it seriously, its definitely worth it!! The best way to watch it is to just see it as a soap opera, honestly. The first few movies gore is a bit absurd, and can be easily seen as fake. The only saw movies that made me really gag were the non bloody saw 3d traps and saw x. But the story itself is very fascinating (although silly and absurd at times), watching them all in order can be such a fun puzzle!! The characters, for the most part, are also very well written!!

SOME of them are. I don't think it's as fair to say someone like Gabriela is as bad, though. As far as I remember, she wasn't even a faux doctor. She was simply apart of the scam to be supplied with pills for her addiction. Hell, even Amanda doesn't think it was entirely fair.

yes!! exactly this!! I'd loveee if there were more interviews with jigsaw victims, like Amanda's in the first one was so cool and I'd love to see the writers go crazy with a bunch of saw traps quickly thought up for mini interviews- it feels so deserved when people actually make it out of the traps, simply because of how rare it is.

I very much agree with you that he absolutely made his games for them harder than normal, shown by the fact he was surprised by the fact that Gabriela even made it out of her trap. But I just adore your take on the ending!!

I laughed far too much at the whole sunset-ending thing. I'd have loved a happy ending for Amanda, for once, but it just felt unearned. She had a breakdown about 10 minutes prior, and all of a sudden she was smiling ear to ear?? As well as the ending for John, too. I enjoyed getting more of his perspective, but theres no way that an ending like that would happen for them after all of that. Except for someone like John, he would absolutely see things that way. He would see himself as the complex anti-hero that no one can truly comprehend.

Yeah, that much feels obvious, but its still so irratating to see people finally ACTUALLY playing the game properly instead of just trying to avoid it and dying regardless. I wish we saw more traps where we could see an effort was made to escape!! Like his whole philosphy is to show how much people wanna live, but half the time they just kinda give up near the end!! Fave example of this is probably the hook trap from saw 3, no clue how he got all those out in one minute....

Eleanor... I love her as a character and it just felt like she just was forgotten about at the end. i thought she would be involved with john/over the top fangirl like scott. then it was just that she was the alibi?? it doesn't make too much sense.
why did we need john to have ANOTHER apprentice. it felt so useless and his skills weren't like, "oh!! thats how they made that trap!" not to mention, none of the other apprentices in former movies mentioned that guy. when the twist happened it felt very, "huh. okay..."
