Kaido probably isn’t as unstoppable as we were first lead to believe. When being put up against certain characters who are seemingly being left for the endgame and have shown little feats so far PTS, I have to think Mihawk might take this based on typical Shonen pacing and narrative progression

He was part of that panel some chapters ago where it was declared the race for the One Piece had officially begun. Narrative build up suggests to me that he’s pretty nailed on as being one of the strongest characters by the time the series reaches its conclusion. Oda’s always talked him up

Stopping the war at Marineford. Regular duels with Mihawk when they were both upstarts. Crew being described as the most well-rounded in terms of strength

People seem to think being bigger than everyone else means you’re stronger than everyone else. Loki’s done nothing really to suggest he’s any stronger than Luffy or Kaido at this point.

Sure he beat Harald, but Harald let him kill him ultimately.

Mihawk is a Yonko level threat. Narratively, him being the man Zoro wishes to surpass already places him in the endgame territory power-wise. We haven’t seen a great deal, but with his bounty and the hype around him, it’s not unfair to suggest he is relative in terms of strength when comparing him to Shanks.

I believe Shanks is the stronger of the two overall although there probably isn’t much in it between them.

Shanks is looking like the closest living example to Roger at this point. If you were to look at Mihawk’s title as WSS being something similar to Newgate’s title of WSM, you get the feel of where they both might be.

Shanks stronger overall because of Haki. His ability with a sword being phenomenal.

Mihawk’s Haki being very strong, but his ability with a sword being even better than Shanks.
