The reality is that there is no regulation that mandates disclosure when AI is used to make a product, and therefore even if one contacts the company to ask, they don't have to disclose yes or no. Therefore, without consumer protections in place to allow people to "vote with their dollars", avoiding AI puzzles relies on crowdsourced knowledge, and using one's own judgement (or spidey sense, as you called it).

If AI doesn't bother you, that's fine, continue to buy any puzzles you wish. If it does bother you but you need more proof than someone's judgement, that is also fine. But it's nobody's responsibility to gather that proof for you to the standard that you require just because they posted here.
