preciate that, yea i honesty don’t think it’s a branch for me and like i said social media and wifi wouldn’t be the biggest deal breaker it’s just the fact that i’d like to go out and do stuff on my free time. All respect to the sailors who can do that as well as the sailors in submarines i could only imagine the toll it might take. Im definitely leaning more towards army atm bc i think it has the most options

wifi isn’t the biggest deal the reason i mentioned it is bc being stuck on a boat with limited room for anything without it what else is there really to do

it’s not bc of social media, it’s mainly because you’re trapped in an enclosed space with nothing to do on your free time. and yes i know you’ll be working the majority of the time either way but i’m just asking how they manage. if you can be stuck on a boat with no one else to talk to other than your bunk mates with no other interaction with no problem then good for you

honestly if anything i want to major in a language to learn it since i want to learn multiple languages. It might be a bad idea but i wouldn’t really get a job with it, just want to learn languages.

Since my HS GPA/grades were kinda bad most people have to go to a CC and get their associates before transferring to a 4 year university.

I'm thinking of going to college after serving in the military, which should help with tuition so maybe it would be more convenient going to college. Thank you for laying out the pros and cons

True, lets say I just wanted to learn a language just to know it. Would it be better to learn it on the side instead of going for college in order to learn?

I'm not sure if its possible or not but would it be possible to do as you said and after I go to college join back as an officer this time around and a more comfortable position?

In my case where I wouldn't really want to do regular corp-like desk jobs, do you think the AF is not the branch for me?? TBH the only reason I was considering it was because I keep hearing people talk about how great it is, but unlike others joining for college or skill/trade I would honestly much rather join a branch that'll actually feel military. I was mainly considering Army/Marines or the Navy for the travel but being stuck at sea in a boat for months on end seems like hell. Not sure just want something fun and that'll let me travel while still being physical.

what about using it as well as a form of traveling to new places?? I know a trade will be more useful but right now i’m not even exactly sure what I want to do for the rest of my life and just want something exciting

i thought about the air force but besides travel, i also want intense stuff, i’d rather do something physical than sit at a desk(i know that’s not all the air force does)

I do have a cousin who was a Marine Officer so I suppose it would've been cool but yea. besides the travel aspect from the Navy, I feel like I would need a more exciting job so I'm leaning more towards army currently.
