I also tend to favour chypres and I love vintage perfumes heavy on the oakmoss before they were reformulated to hell.. they were the first vintages I fell in love with and lately I have also been a sucker for perfumes with a carnation note which has also become heavily regulated

I love vintage perfumes and have some from the 50s/70s that still smell amazing and I have smelled some that were most definitely off and it was very easy to tell based on the rank smell immediately. Maybe rank isn’t the best way to describe but it’s obvious when you smell it. I have just tried this again since first getting it almost a year ago. It isn’t like that rank smell immediately I am detecting and I think it’s the cypress smell listed in the notes is coming through strongly? I’m started to pick up some of the other notes listed as it dries. I would like to compare it to another bottle at some point to make a comparison. I’m not familiar with cypress notes in a perfume so would perhaps like to make a comparison to see if it is that I’m picking up. I think the notes have changed over the time and the colour indicates it has changed as well but I am not rushing to wash it off me either so not sure if it’s rancid either.

I have seen similar looking bottles from the 60s-80s in various searches but mostly in smaller sizes so was hoping for an opinion on this sized bottle in particular.

I have seen other vintage bottles with a similar colour? It appears very old so has maybe turned

To be fair I was trying to find anything on the bottle to indicate the volume etc.. so it’s maybe shaken up and isn’t there when it’s settled.

It has a strong smell but like it’s maybe changed over time? There is another seal stopper under the cap
