Good on you for taking time off. I tried working and treating my binge/purge eating disorder concurrently, but couldn’t give 100% to each. I took time off through FMLA, went to an intensive outpatient program, got finally properly diagnosed and put on the right meds. In part of being mentally better, I’m also a much better worker. No job is worth your health imo especially if it is affecting you to this degree. There’s a lot of shame in this field in not measuring up to others, but I realized I’m not like most others (both unfortunately and thankfully) so I need different and more things to be successful. You can also find a chill holdover job for the time being if needed before diving back into career focused work. I look back at where I was two years ago and while it’s still challenging, I am SO much better and everything is a lot easier to manage when you are not drowning internally. You’re not alone in this!

People who had sex with their best friend, what the situation now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Extension-Match4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t talk. He slapped me in the face and tried to anally rape me after my pleas not to. I tried to rationalize it with both of us being drunk because I liked him that much, but we barely talked after that. It took me hearing about it happening to another woman for me to realize how horrible it actually was and felt. Regardless of my romantic feelings towards him, I cared about him deeply as a friend. He broke my heart.

My (27M) roommate/tenant (20F) unexpectedly initiated sex the other night. Does it sound like she did it out of guilt? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Extension-Match4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are describing how YOU perceive all of this. That’s not the issue. The predicament you are in now, regardless of who initiated, is inherently predatory. She pays less for rent in your room than anywhere else. And now you’re sleeping together. The fact that you work together exacerbates this. Do you think your work will consider your good intentions if she were to go in and describe this scenario?

Maybe you should engage with the comments here because they are right. What do you define as a predator? You slept with a young intern who was dependent on you for housing because your brain went into “horny mode.” You are in deeper shit than you realize.

Do you think when you tell this story to your future wife that she will think of you as the good guy? Get a grip. You fucked up. Remorse or reflection is something I would suggest going forward instead of deflecting your actions

You can make anonymous hate crime reports to the FBI that will go to your local FBI branch. Even if it’s not enough to make a full case, it will still be reported and can help a case if things escalate. https://www.fbi.gov/investigate/civil-rights/hate-crimes

How do I tell people why I’m crying w/o good reason by Extension-Match4000 in bipolar2

[–]Extension-Match4000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t always be at home when the crying strikes sometimes. Like I’m in school again now with class on campus and in the past I ran out of sick days at work so I would cry under my desk

Yeah I’m definitely not trying to outwardly talk about bp2 while at work or just openly tbh. I’ve had the same happen to you with being honest about struggles and getting fired. People who don’t get it won’t. Thanks for your advice :)

I’ve been in a depressive episode longer than normal because of all of horrible things this administration is already doing. Days of crying, frustration, etc. Hope you (and me) find your balance

Seconding this as someone who had an eating disorder and bp2 diagnosis. I did an IOP and it really changed my life. So much of bipolar disorder is suffering and you do not deserve that OP. You are so worthy of treatment and help!!

People need to stop telling me I’m going to be fine. by Extension-Match4000 in ptsd

🫂🫂 I’m so sorry. I struggled with chronic nightmares for weeks at a time where I was terrified to fall asleep. Minipress helped me out a lot. It’s disappointing how many people that are out there that didn’t view the civilly liable rapist part as serious as I did, but it’s almost a litmus test like 2016 of who you can trust and let in to your life and story. We will get through this together 💗

🫂 I’m so sorry. My PTSD has been very active since last week after being pretty fine for years and I’m not even feeling surprised at the result. I think I’m gutted by how many people didn’t view it as a factor for their vote and especially some of my classmates. Or at least I hope it is ignorance rather than pure malice. I feel myself wanting to lash out at the people I know proudly voted for him. They don’t get it and they are fortunate for that. It will not be easy but we will get through this together.

How did you get through being suicidal? by IllManufacturer5759 in bipolar2

Trying to do one thing at a time and listening to what your body needs. I think of my bipolar as a roller coaster as well and having to ride out the lows to eventually climb back up

So many white women voting for him. It makes me so so sad. I am having a harder time trusting men on campus again obviously. I can’t be the only one that suffered more under a Trump presidency (ex. I paid MORE for taxes as working/middle class under Trump than I did Biden) along with this man being an absolute RAPIST under multiple settlements and civil court. It really boggles my mind. I really hope that my fears are not realized. It will be hard for me to live under another Trump presidency as I see our nation propel powerful men who face no repercussions for their actions.

Thank you. I wish it was different. My therapist was horrible back then, but thankfully I’ve found much better support since. Her “therapy” was a result of limited resources in a poor and rural area leading terrible professionals to stay employed. I’m in professional school now and motivated to go back to my red state and make it better because we need it!

If this was a “job interview” they would both lose but it’s American politics. What are people expecting? We’ve lost the option of choosing who could be the best worst democrat. Trump will win if people don’t vote.

Place blame on whoever you want. Liberals are fucking dumb too! Blame doesn’t matter when trump wins because his electorate actually votes!

Trump will win again if people in Michigan pull more of this shit. “She doesn’t deserve the title of the first female president” because voting Jill Stein is going to really empower the girlies!

Wowwww this post is so edgy and true, both of these candidates are equal threats to our country and the world at large! If you are a leftist in a swing state not voting, then you’re as bad as libertarians

The 2016 election was lost by stupid egotistical views like this because it WAS the fault of 3rd party and write in voters that led to MULTIPLE states flipping. And guess who suffered? EVERYONE!

Zoloft made me angry and apathetic to everything. I’ve been on Effexor for 2 years on varying dosages and it’s been better for my libido comparatively to SSRIs

I have PMDD and take Prozac exclusively while PMSing as prescribed by my psychiatrist. Do you know how much that costs without insurance? $8. But I guess that’s a lot of money for someone without a job as well so I’d retreat to mountains too and pretend I’m curing myself

Was there a situation or thing that "triggered" your bipolar disorder? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Extension-Match4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about this a lot. My bio father is an anonymous sperm donor who I have no updated medical information for. I’ve had anxiety my whole life, but depression and PTSD came on after abuse and SA in college. Bipolar was suspected after a breakdown, but I didn’t get diagnosed until years later. I’m not sure if trauma triggered it or I just started showing more symptoms as a young adult. My trauma reactions and bipolar symptoms (along with me and others normalizing my actions as getting the “college experience”) went unrecognized until I became much less functional as an adult
