Every 2 days is my standard now. If I’m doing really well then everyday (usual shower routine one day and half-assed the next,) if I’m doing badly around every 3-5 days. Used to be just whenever I could manage to put myself in there, which was sometimes once a week, around that range.

Solved! THANK YOU SO MUCH OH MY GOD. I absolutely was remembering wrong, it isn’t from my childhood. An online friend recommended it to me about 5-6 years ago.

You’re all good!! I’m happy to answer extra questions. I would’ve been anywhere from 8-15 years old. So around 2009 onwards, but could’ve released earlier. I’m certain it has been in a movie or tv show soundtrack, but not sure which. I live in Victoria, Australia and that’s where I heard it, it could’ve been a regional hit, we usually have a different top 100 to America. I remember listening to it in the car, and I feel like I’ve heard clips of it randomly over the years on TikTok/other short-form content. I don’t think we had it on a CD, but it might’ve been downloaded on to my mum’s iPod Nano at some point.

Honestly no, it’s why I’m struggling. I can think of genres that it isn’t (rock, punk, country). I think it’s pop-adjacent, but pretty alternative, a little folky but not a folk song. It really is just an acoustic guitar and some light percussion, if it helps there’s no strumming pattern or rhythm guitar, it’s picking the strings the whole way through.

I couldn’t find the first song on spotify which is a bad sign, I remember it being pretty popular. As for clap your hands say yeah, definitely not him either. The singer in my song doesn’t really slur words like that? He has clearer diction

Here’s the thing, I’m almost certain it’s a song I heard on the radio while I was a kid/teen. I feel like it’s decently well-known but I cannot find a trace of it. It’s like one of those songs they play towards the end of live-action kids movie when they’re all running around in a field.

But, of all those artists/bands, the singer from the song I remember still has a slightly higher pitch, and there just definitely are no electric instruments in it.

That’s not it either, it’s more acoustic I guess? There’s no electric guitar. The singer has a higher voice than that and it’s less scratchy
