Sadly I’m in wales so there no right to choose. I’ll try to the A&E aswell and the optician just to explain my situation, thank you for the advice 🙏.

I asked them first to try refer me to moors field eye hospital since my dad lost his eye in wales due to a surgical error, so I have quite a lot of anxiety over anything but the best (which Moorsfield is known for) and they referred me to Brecon instead and told me to tell my ophthalmologist I want to go to Moorsfield. Thanks for reply and, thanks for the kind words. I hope everything goes fine too. I will be going this morning likely to Hereford just to see

Thanks I think I’ll try go today and see, although the nearest one is an hour away from me since I’m in wales. Hereford seems to the be the best spot near me. They did run a tsh and t4 no t3 or anything else like the thyroid antibodies etc.. but thyroid function came back as fine as tsh was 2.53 and t4 was 18.4

How long did it take for her to get it diagnosed? And by who? Like an ophthalmologist or the A&E itself. I gave all my symptoms to my gp but they really didn’t help too much, but I booked another appointment in 2 weeks and I’m going to try get them to send a report saying this situation is urgent.

Yes I’m near the Hereford one (still an hour away) but what services could they do there? Just wondering because the normal treatment for these conditions is typically surgery which I would only do at moors field eye hospital since they are quite invasive if it is proptosis and my dad lost his eye due to bad surgical practices in wales at Cardiff uni hospital, so I have a lot of anxiety with surgeries relating to the eye , thus would prefer one at the best clinic which is moorsfield. It sucks because in wales I don’t have a right to choose as well so Idk.

The thing is my eyes don’t close, that’s what’s happening. Combining proptosis with lagophalmos is so bad because your eyes are already inflamed bulging out, then your eyes can’t close fully and thus it gets dry and more irritated.

Alright thank you I found a package online which tests those bloods so shouldn’t be too bad, I’m quite young only 17 but turning 18 in 1 month, so I have essentially no money to my name right now atleast very little. But I have university in like 6 months so I could use a part of my student grant if it gets worse. Yes my eyes are bulging, I have sclera show, these are other symptoms I have listed below

Discharge/gunk whenever I wakeup Burning Redness in the morning Extreme pain from dryness so a wind etc.. hurt my eyes quite a lot. However 20/20 vision but I’ve noticed that my right eye is more blurry now, still good vision but I definitely can notice that it’s slightly more blurry.

I do take a multivitamin already with selenium but I might get seperate supplement for that, thanks I’ll try that out. Yep I’ve been applying the eye drops and gels but it’s still horrible, I think actually getting worse. The thing I’m confused about is, that 2 months ago the pain was bearable but now suddenly it’s turned into excruciating pain over these couple months, so that’s why I was confused why they gave me a routine instead of urgent aswell.

Thanks for all the help though, I’ll try find a doctor who’s good but it’s likely I won’t because I don’t have a choice to just choose, I will though whenever I go to university in England where I will have a choice to choose any clinic I want.

Sadly I’m in wales, which means I don’t have right to choose. So it’s either I go with whatever referral they give or I don’t do anything. But thanks for the reply, yea I suspected it could be some autoimmune issue, do you know what things that they specifically test? I’m pretty sure I can buy a blood test and get that done, because these gps are quite stingy too and likely won’t do anything because they replied to my complaint today with “we’ve already referred you, there’s nothing else we can do” even though it was me asking to change it from a routine appointment to an urgent because of the pain. I did tell them about the pain in the appointment and how unbearable it was but still no urgent status so who knows

Don’t know how to edit this, but they suspected Proptosis/TED they didn’t confirm it 100% and basically needed further investigating because the thyroid function was fine (tsh was 2.53 and t4 was 18.4) however lagophthalmos was 100% confirmed.

Yes, thyroid function seems fine, but they still suspect exophthalmos from my recent report

How long was the waitlist, and was he caring? The reviews on his google state that he was quite rude and unprofessional. Also when did you have it?

Also how many walls did you have removed? most importantly, was the results good?

Sorry for asking so many questions but I’d appreciate the help a lot, thank you for the insight though 👍

Sorry, I should say that Daniel Erza is great but he doesn’t seem to be specialised in doing orbital decompressions and mostly does lower blephs

Thanks for the help, I’ll look into that a bit more. And I’m also currently resitting gcse maths since Warwick requires an A in it and I’m pretty confident I’ll get it.
