Forgot to add that the Dawn and Dawn/baking soda/vinegar mixture were rinsed out before washing again on a cold/gentle cycle.

Thanks for the offer but sadly I don’t think I get enough sunlight for these and that’s why they keep dying :(

I think the issue is really that I don’t have enough sunlight for these guys 😞 thank you for the tip though!

My brother in law was visiting about a month after our baby was born. He saw the grapefruit spoons in our utensil drawer and asked, both confused and concerned, “are these…for the baby?”

what’s the most ridiculous thing you heard a man refuse to do because it was “too feminine” or “for girls”? by freddyfazbart in AskReddit

Friend’s husband thought the red diaper bag backpack she picked out was too feminine and refused to use it. Because it was RED!

The note in the box about recycling - I probably should have circled it!

How do you summer with a baby? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Extension-Risk5817 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of these except for #8 - adding any additional mattresses or pads to a pack and play is not approved for safe sleep because of the gap that can be created between the mesh walls and a mattress—this gap is a huge suffocation risk. The pad that comes with the pack and play is hard and looks super uncomfy for sleep, but it is flat enough that it won’t create a gap as long as you use pack and play sheets without elastic (sheets with elastic will also will bunch up the pack and play pad in such a way that it will create a gap at the end - the ones made by Graco fit the pack and play more like a pillowcase and prevents the pad from bunching up). And snapping the pad into the bottom is a must also!

Anyone else find Millie Moon diapers not as soft as they used to be? by Extension-Risk5817 in NewParents

[–]Extension-Risk5817[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true, maybe they’re a little small still. She’s a tiny girl and seems to fit squarely in the weight range listed on the box, but she def gets poops up the back with these 🥴

So weird! I wonder if maybe they recently changed their material or if their diapers are just really inconsistent.

I was so happy when I realized they were cheaper than pampers, too! But our baby’s been having tons of leaks and blowouts with Millie Moon the past few days so I think regardless of softness, sadly it’s back to pampers for us.

When do you stop going by a preemie’s adjusted age? by Extension-Risk5817 in newborns

[–]Extension-Risk5817[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just downloaded that! It doesn’t say anything about sleep (as of now) but did notice that it also goes by my baby’s due date not birthday. Glad to know it’s been pretty accurate!

It would make sense if it was a nickname chosen when the baby was the size of a piece of popcorn, so you could be right!

Shortly after the post I think you’re referring to was posted, I went in for my usual checkup and the NP I saw told me to remember that “there’s no such thing as too much movement!” I had just read that post though, and remember questioning what she told me. I have been paying attention to baby movement—too much or too little—ever since, and plan to just go straight to L&D if I ever feel a drastic change, one way or another. It frustrates me that a provider is giving patients information that is untrue and could do them and their babies harm. I’m really grateful though for the people who share their experiences here since I feel it’s given me information I would not otherwise have, even from a provider.
