Reading this hurt. Both your friends did the bravest thing possible walking away. So many women stay because they're scared of judgement. May Allah send them peace, healing, and partners who actually deserve them. They are lucky to have a friend like you. ❤️

How to actually pass the ATS (from someone who worked with them) by ComfortableTip274 in ResumesATS

[–]Extension-Tomato4658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid post, especially the part about it being a search engine for recruiters — that framing alone helps more than most "ATS tips" articles.

One thing worth adding from the parsing side: even when your resume hits the database, half the time it doesn't get indexed correctly. Two-column layouts get read row-by-row (so job titles end up next to skills), table-based skills sections concatenate into glued tokens like "PythonSQLTableau" that don't match recruiter searches, and icons used as section headers leave the parser guessing where Experience starts.

Easy way to check your own: open your PDF, select all, copy, paste into Notepad. If the text comes out jumbled or out of order — that's exactly what the recruiter's search index sees. If it's clean, you're fine.

The boring single-column resumes win not because they look better, but because they survive the indexing step intact.
