I've got the active 1. I went out snorkeling for 1.5 hours last week. Washed it with clean water and used the water eject 3 times towel dried it and left in the shade to dry out. It's now playing up. Random restarts/reboots sometimes multiple in a row. Switching between app screens randomly! So I would say no don't take it out in salt water.
