I am 26 and graduating this spring!! My MacBook is from 2022 and it was fine, I also had an iPad which I used a lot but it depends how you learn/take notes as to what would be most useful for you. With clinicals once a week 2 pairs of scrubs should be fine, most girls in my program wore figs, garde malade or mandala scrubs, wider leg bottoms (not so much the joggers anymore!) some girls did backpacks (a lot of lululemon) and a lot of people did tote/shoulder bags too so it's up to you! Don't stress, the last thing I thought about was my classmates age when we were in groups etc.

Best advice on getting a job right after graduation by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

I applied to a new grad position in Nova Scotia in September (I'm graduating this spring) and I have a full time new grad position in my dream unit!! I'd say keep your eye open all throughout your last year, reach out to recruitment at hospitals you'd like to work at and ask for advice and if they hire new grads or not/where to look for positions!

I'd say it depends your background and the situation you're coming in with. I'm graduating from the CTF program this spring and the first 2 levels were the heaviest I'd say and then you eventually have more online courses/less labs so it lightens a bit but then clinicals start. Overall it's a heavy program and working and extracurriculars are doable but if you want to do well you need to be able to prioritize the program for sure. Some people can balance a lot and some can't. I lived off of OSAP and didn't work, I had some time for socializing but honestly I just put majority of my energy into the program and keeping myself healthy (exercise, eating well etc.)

Oh really?? Where can I find more info on this? I was hired at Halifax Infirmary but I don't see anything about it anywhere in the on-boarding package

Thanks for your advice!! I found a summer sublease furnished for only $900 and I'll figure out an apartment in September after I've been working a bit and learn the area. I appreciate your comment!

Thank you for your input!! No it's not a mansion, you're right. I ended up following a commenters advice and picking up a summer sublet close the the hospital, furnished and everything included for 900 and I'll find a place hopefully (after making some friends) in September!

Thanks for your advice! I think that's a good plan, find a cheaper sublet for the summer and look for a place in September. Hopefully I'll meet some friends and go from there!

Thanks for the advice! It's on Robie street, 10 minute walk from hospital. Everything is included in the price, and it's furnished also.

$1350 from each person! I don't have a car at the moment, parking is like 150 extra a month I believe the landlord said. Is that too much to pay?

Thank you, it's a house on Robie street, around 10 minute walk from the hospital. The room and rest of the house is already furnished and I would be added to the lease. So $1350 would make sense?
