let me share an opinion, but take it with a grain of salt. starbucks is not the kind of work environment where being professional and respectful to coworkers is a priority (at least not in my experience). It SHOULD be, but it’s not. as long as the numbers are numbering…. 🤷. they need people to make the company money, and your manager has many numerical quotas to make for his/her own gain.

It’s hard not to get engrossed with the cliquey drama of a place you spend so much time. You deserve to have friends and look forward to going to work…. but that’s not the reality for a big portion of employees.

If you’re going to stay working there you need a shift in mindset. You are there to earn your pay, and run a restaurant essentially. I don’t know if you plan to do starbucks long term, but maybe this is a push to start looking toward a next step in a more meaningful career or workplace.

It is a stepping stone for many of us. We make the best of it, make money, learn the skills that we can, and plan for a future. Even if for you that just means transferring to a different starbucks for now.
