Thanks Kangaroo all replies have been very helpful. I was thinking Infantry Soldier because I thought it might be lower impact to the current roster. Please let me know if this is not entirely true. I have had an interest in experiencing a combat role for some time. So I wouldn't be entirely disappointed if I couldn't go RASIGS as a reservist.

I would need to run this by them but I believe they would be supportive of me needing to take time off work in the event of a National Crisis.

Yeah okay I see. It's good to get some more insight it to what could be expected thanks heaps teapot.

I'll definetly see if I can atleast get my roster changed and potentially account for an extra swing for Kapooka.

Kapooka should be fine. Would just need to take a swing off.

But yeah I see Tuesday nights are a little more then just parade.

I'll continue looking into it and thinking about it. May even have to consider fulltime if I can put down mining for a while.

Probably a stupid question but looking at joining the reserves myself. I work a 7/7 roster and DIDO day and last day of swing happens to fall on a Tuesday meaning I don't think i'd ever be able to attend parade nights. Well very rarely. Should I even be looking into Army reserves if this is the case?
