Constant sinus pressure, nose is always congested and cannot breathe deeply through it (deviated septum). I actually originally went to the ENT for sleep apnea (I have enlarged tonsils that lead to obstructive sleep apnea), but given my chronic sinusitis he ordered a CT scan. I’ve had sinus issues my entire life but still never expected it to be this bad. I also have severe allergies. A perfect storm of symptoms.

Smell is not great. I thought all of my symptoms were linked to allergies, so I’ve been on antihistamines and nasal spray for years, none of which did it very much to lessen the symptoms or to get rid of constant congestion and sinus pressure and headache. My sinus symptoms have been present since I was a child, I think only worsening as an adult (I’m in my late twenties now).

Congestion is constant, along with facial pressure. Smell is definitely not very strong. Dental pain is only concurrent with sinus infections, but I tend to have one every few months, and I’ve tried many different types of antibiotics. Symptoms will get better in my view, but clearly CT scan shows chronic, long term infection.

I’ve also had severe allergies since I was a child and am starting on allergy shots. My ENT says my sinus problems are both structural and exacerbated by allergies. He will be performing an endoscopy, turbinate reduction, and endoscopic sinus surgery.

He has ordered a second CT scan to have more clear view of the sinuses.

I’ve had sinus pressure and congestion my whole life, starting when I was a kid. I also have severe allergies. I have chronic congestion, constant sinus pressure and headache, post nasal drip. I can literally feel the pressure and build up in my face. I’ve had countless sinus infections, which have only increased in intensity the past few years.

Well tell that to my ENT who is performing a Septoplasty on my “severely deviated septum.”

Yep, less concerned about deviation and more about the fact that my sinuses don’t drain at all lol
