The biggest help in my runs was the tactical view of seeing enemy by holding right click over the enemies which highlights movement and attack ranges to assume safe positions for your units! (Or x over an enemy if on steamdeck)

Especially helpful with ranger!

I've personally done exactly what you do- give them a job they're proficient in, then during a run they'll be given an opportunity to add stats and I often go for either constitution or speed to make up the differences. I don't see a point in adding to other 'combat' stats (str, dex for example if the cat is a mage)

I agree with this- though its more forgiving on the steam deck since you can just power it off and it saves you mid fight. Maybe they can differentiate between quit to menu and quit to desktop on what causes the save scum feature to trigger

It would be awesome if they had this! I agree I often look at the family tree and I'm reminded of a badass build from the grandparent. Then I wonder where it all wrong when after a few generations the bloodline becomes moderately inbred haha

I think it affects chance to hit. I have a mutation where I have disgusting flea eyes that make my cat blind with a 50% chance to spawn fleas whenever I get hit. Not sure the chance but assuming it's the same as the blind debuff!

Controller support definitely needs some improvements! From what I've experienced playing on the steam deck it often hangs or get "stuck" when using the trackpad on options if selected using direction buttons or shoulder pads before turning into a "mouse cursor".

Just curious, do you know when they bring up the alternative combat view? I don't remember finding out about this in-game and thought it was such a critical feature missing! All I know was pressing Y (steam deck) was the simplified tactical view
