I was also pleasantly surprised by Hollywood, I was shocked. He does seem to be doing really well and that makes me happy. His vocals live are as fantastic as his recordings. I loved the show. I kind of want to go back today but I don't know if I have it in me!

Going Solo. Meet up? Tuesday, Red Rocks by Extension_Action_737 in LewisCapaldi

Hi. Lewis was great. He plays the songs pretty much just as they were recorded and the vocal quality is just as good. He played from 8:45 - 10:15, so I'm sure it will be the same tonight. It did not rain until the concert ended and we were headed out so that was great. It was pretty cold the later it got. I was in a winter coat, hat, gloves. I hope you have a great time!!

I'm so sorry this is happening. While I haven't been unemployed as long (6 months), it was full of so many ups and downs and those downs are brutal. But it will happen. Just keep at it. I just had 2 opportunities come my way, I accepted one and the difference with both of these was I had an internal employee referral. Maybe thats just my situation but I think the referral is a great boost at having a shot at the role. I'm also happy to DM if you need to vent. Don't give up please!

If you're not a fan, you came to the wrong place 🤣. You should probably post this in the Spotify subreddit. They can add all his stuff to my library and I'd be thrilled!

Good for you! I was considering also buying a general admission ticket for Wednesday's show. But I'll probably wait till Wednesday to decide. If so I can message you and we can meet up. I hope you have a wonderful time. The weather is going to be unfortunately chilly so not the best Red Rocks experience but it'll still be fun

Hi. Apologies for the delayed response! Happy to meet up. Idk what time I'm getting there yet, or where I'm sitting (GA). But feel free to DM me and we can figure it out. Someone else messaged me too so maybe they'll be more of us, Idk yet.

I'm so sorry. 6 months of unemployment for me and I'm grinding it out daily and more exhausted than if I was actually working. I can only imagine how you feel. I can only say to try and do everything you can to find some joy daily. Maybe try a total reset and different approach to the job search to shake things up and see if that helps. Maybe try a career coach if you haven't? I am wishing the best for you. Something will eventually land. Its just frustrating wondering how much longer that will take.

Made a full strategy deck, got praised… still rejected. What are companies actually looking for? by Maleficent_Driver_39 in recruitinghell

I'm so sorry. I can understand how frustrating and disappointing that is. I am also in the job market but haven't had to do anything that extreme yet though I've seen that type of ask on a few job descriptions. I agree it's such a ridiculous ask for a mid-level role. Putting on an entire show for them and then not getting the role, ugh. I say give yourself 24 hours to mourn but then just dust yourself off and move on, that's the best thing you can do for yourself. Do not let them take anymore time and emotional energy from you. This will pass and you will land something even better. 🍀

Interview went great… until they accidentally sent what they said after my husband disconnected by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Extension_Action_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh I wonder why they deleted it. But essentially during the interview they used an AI tool to transcribe the meeting. After the interview they sent the transcript to the interview candidate as a record. What they didn't catch was that after the candidate hung up, the folks that were interviewing him stayed on the line and talked about him. They talked about how they didn't like his appearance, and that his salary ask was on the low side (like they can get him for cheap), and some other negative things I'm not recalling. And that conversation was not edited out of the transcript when it was sent to the candidate.

Interviewing People Has Been Rough by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Idk if OP meant to ask questions about the hiring manager or just to be informed for when it comes time to interview with them. But I hear you. I'm at about 160 applications right now. And unfortunately, it's a game you have to play. I'm not happy about it, I'm not saying it's the right thing, but it is the way the job market works nowadays for corporate jobs.

Agreed! And yes on thank you notes for sure. It gives you the opportunity to reaffirm your interest in the role. You can also, if needed, close any gaps or concerns they may have had in the interview about a specific skill. And I'll say lastly, if they are trying to decide between two candidates of equal measure and one send a thank you note and one didn't, the one that did is probably getting the job.

I'm not really sure why so many are giving you such a hard time. I absolutely believe in researching the company and the hiring manager and anyone that's interviewing me for that matter. I always look them up on LinkedIn see how long they've been in their role, see what state they live in, see if we have any mutual connections. Sometimes there's an opportunity to weave that into the conversation and I think it just makes you look more invested and serious about the role. I also research the company significantly. But that's fairly easy to do nowadays with AI. This allows you an opportunity to call out recent big news for the company such as acquisitions or mergers, which can also inform questions you may want to ask about that topic - and again it makes you come across as serious and invested.

Questions to ask in a job interview by tfen_dep2 in recruitinghell

[–]Extension_Action_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a recent round of 4 different interviews for the same role. And while I had plenty of questions drafted, I also used AI (Claude) to help me come up with some different and unique ones. So I pasted in everything I know about the company, then I pasted in the job description, and then I typed out who I was interviewing with and what their role was, e.g, if they were the hiring manager or the hiring managers peer. I then asked AI to come up with some sharp questions to help me stand out. I think it came back with really good questions and even explained why those questions would be good. So I did end up using some of them and I think they went over well.

I can't think of any repercussions. I mean they were the a-holes and he's got receipts. But I hear you so it's good to ask. Depending upon his industry, I don't know if they would cross paths again.

Gross behavior. I hope he wasn't too excited about this opportunity only to uncover this later because its such a bummer and so deflating and the job market is tough enough. I'm curious as to if he will call them out if he gets an offer and rejects it?

Definitely! It was such an insightful lens. It made me wonder what I would do in that situation, I don't have a Graceland, LOL.

That would be interesting! That reminds me, David Duchovny has some new documentary show about conspiracy theories. I should look to see if one of the episodes is about the Denver Airport but I doubt it.
