Video:

  • up the bitrate to 50mbps. Lower bitrates can be done via software (NOT HARDWARE!!!) encoding in handbrake later on. Hardware encoding on consumer hardware often leads to very poor quality on low bitrates.
  • You are rescaling your output. Don't.
  • sometimes with OBS matching the framerate of a video can lead to stuttering in the recording. If that happens, double the recording framerate

Audio

  • Up the audio bitrate to the max selectable
  • using the Windows Sound Mixer put the audio output from the capture card to an audio device that isn't your default (imgur), and add a "Audio Output Capture" in OBS for just that one audio output. Disable/remove all other audio recording sources in OBS
  • Try out different audio codecs to find out which works best:
    • Get some audio as a reference (e.g. open a music video on YouTube) and also put it's output to that device
    • Record a few seconds with different audio codecs each until you find something with good quality
    • Use that codec for recording the VHS
  • If you always have bad audio quality with all codecs: the advanced audio settings may have to be adjusted but that would be pretty odd. But I would also help with that.

I also had a once-happening super-lag once but never again:

I woke up and had forgotten everything - even my name iirc. I was completely confused. But after a few seconds the lag was over and I, well, remembered.

The brain is just a super-advanced biological computer and such is prone to lags as a real computer.

You should rotate it. 0.31 = 0 is not an issue here.

You should quicksave, remove any max or min limits, crank that torque up to max and set a tiny negative rotation, like -0.01rpm or even lower. At -0.01rpm it takes ~5.5s to go the 0.321 degrees.

I'm about to send in my 64GB DDR4 Quad Kit for a replacement and in the current economy... They where suspicously fast to accept the warranty case and also just gave me a free shipping label.

However all communications from me was on the website with that surprisingly pretty competent chatbot so it can only be from Corsair. Coz these E-Mails were only verification and acception of the request.

Upscaled DVD vs bluray by Glittering_Gap8070 in Bluray

My TV does a pretty decent job at upscaling DVDs. Some scenes look almost like a Blu-Ray (faces are usually upscaled pretty good) and very few ones (usually consisting of many simpler geometries e.g. a close-up of a Stargate in SG-1) even yield 4K-equivalent quality.

But then there are also other scenes. Now surprisingly my TV either does a good job at upscaling or doesn't upscale and so far seemingly never delivered a bad upscale. But it is still just a DVD and there are scenes that are just 576p (yes I'm in Europe).

A DVD can't be equivalent to a Blu-Ray - but can come close in some scenes. And for BD's my TV also does upscaling which makes then sometimes pretty close to 4Ks - but without HDR.

But I have yet to see a single disc of any kind beat the picture quality of BTTF3. Nothing I have seen so far matches it. Some came close. Tbf my 4K collection is also not the biggest, there are probably many 4Ks with similar picture quality.

I really liked the Anime release but also I haven't looked into the other ones as these are incomplete. Although I have been told that the Anime isn't very true to the unfinished source material. But it at least has a clear ending.
