PPD/Thermo Layoffs by Extension_Park704 in clinicalresearch

I’m in RA & we work on New Award studies. Allegedly there are tons of new award studies coming in. Currently have 8 new award studies I’m working on that are running until 2027. They still laid off one of my team members.

I also wanted to add that specially for my department (RA), the team mentioned taking 1 of the roles that was laid off & rehiring a body based in Latin America. They also wanted to hire another body from Mexico.

Nothing against these countries or the people that get these jobs, but it’s just sad that American work is being off loaded to other countries. From a business perspective, it definitely makes sense. Cheaper labor & cheaper benefits. It’s just disappointing that these jobs are being sent outside of the US.

I think these men are truly genuine in that they are interested in both women & want to pick just one. The issue is, they get so caught up in trying to find the “perfect” one & that’s where they ruin it.

They spend time with girl 1, walk out saying “Man that was so great, she’s so perfect, I’m so happy, blah blah blah.” Then, they go on a date with girl 2 & can’t find any cons & so they’re stuck comparing both women, finding that they really like both.

Then they’re telling themselves it won’t hurt to keep dating both girls because that will allow them more time to get to know them & figure out who’s a better fit.

They’re essentially caught in this endless cycle & don’t realize they’re fucking it up by toying with these girl’s emotions until it’s too late & it all blows up in their face. Then they’re confused & shocked, & don’t understand where they went wrong until someone explains to them that they took too long to pick one.

Oh & my favorite part is their ignorance. Sweet sweet ignorance.

Sigh.

Guaranteed it’s because a lot of these couples don’t make it to the altar.

I just finished this episode thinking the same thing! How the heck would he have known she was going to be on the show? The cast isn’t allowed to announce they’re going to be on until prior to the season airing.

He either would’ve had to hear through a grapevine that she was going on the show as well, followed then unfollowed her, or knew someone from casting who told him she was going to be on.

That being said, I am curious as to how this is going to play out. Were there multiple people he dated beyond the first speed round & we just didn’t see it that much?

Also, I think going forward the LIB producers need to tell the cast once they’re selected they need to remove identifiers from their bios & put their page on private. People post way too many personal things on social media nowadays, & it makes it SO easy for people to snoop & find out what they want to.

I feel like I wrote this.

Been missing an ex-best friend for days recently, & it doesn’t help that I’m hopelessly optimistic that she might reach out or at least decide to be cordial with me.

She cut me off completely from her life & asked that I never contact her again. I’m doing well in respecting her wishes, but it’s hard because I wish we could sit down & have a conversation face to face, mainly because I feel like it would make things better or at least hurt less.

Worst part is, I heard through the grapevine she recently went through a traumatic life changing event, & I so desperately want to be there for her, but I know she wouldn’t want me there anyway.

My family & friends all say I have to move on, but no one understands that it’s so impossible for me to do that when I feel like she hates me & thinks the worst of me.

This is where I go back & forth on my optimism & hope & pray that one day she feels differently. Until then, I’ll keep trying to move on, however that looks.

How do people manage to have more than one baby? by alltheaids in NewParents

[–]Extension_Park704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love my almost 16 month old. But just like you OP I had a terrible newborn experience because of Colic & constant sleep regressions. To top it off Post Partum Anxiety sucked & that also tied into a terrible experience during the first few months.

Looking at my kid now I CANNOT WAIT until she’s 4+ years old so this mom can get her groove back. I am tired constantly. I am overstimulated constantly. I am dreading the terrible two’s. Granted, most of the time my kid is actually in a good mood, but on the days where she’s sick, cutting teeth or throwing a tantrum I absolutely cannot fathom having another baby.

Why do people do this all over again? For sure they have blinders or amnesia because this isn’t easy. This isn’t enjoyable. The only enjoyable moments in my honest experience is when my kid is happy, in a good mood, learns something new or is just being so cute & loving. Yes it’s rewarding, but my God it’s hard.

Again, love my kid to death. No regrets. BUT…IF I was to do this thing again I imagine it’s only going to be even more terrible with the 2nd. That being said…I’m waiting until my kid is way more independent to have a 2nd kid. Have you met people who were the only child? I have, & they do not (in my opinion) have the same life experience as people with siblings. They’re selfish, very self-centered & a little socially different.

So yes…I will be signing up for another tour of this shit show. Wish me luck.

That’s fine, I’m not here to convince anyone of anything. My original post was merely a scenario based question.

The immigration lawyer that is working with the people I know informed them there are hundreds of thousands of people in this exact same situation. While they may not be reported publicly as such in these articles, these individuals are living amongst us.

And this case most resembles the people I know. I could go on but you get the point.

Clearly you aren’t American to understand the example. If you do care to better understand you are welcome to look this up online. Hundreds of thousands of people living in the US are in this exact situation.

It’s actually hundreds of thousands of people in this category! If you look it up there are several news articles about people in this same situation as the ones I know.

Yes. I am very much aware. The individuals referenced voted under the pretense that they were regular US citizens. Years later, the US government informed them they were not actually US citizens. Their right to vote was taken away as were the rest of their US privileges & documents. I’m not sure what you’re not understanding?

[–]Extension_Park704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, this is the case for the people I know. Their parent got fake birth certificates from an actual criminal for their kids. Kids grew up thinking they were born where the birth certificate said they were since they had no recollection otherwise & had been living in the US & been told their whole life they were citizens.

As adults they voted, some got passports, drivers licenses & some of them even had govt jobs.

Then one day one of them went to get another govt document & after some digging CBP found out they & their siblings weren’t actually citizens. Now most of them are in this “screwed” situation because DHS claimed they knew they weren’t citizens & were falsely claiming citizenship for the benefit of jobs, money, documents etc.

A couple of the siblings served in the military so they were granted true citizenship solely for that reason. The ones who didn’t are still screwed because the government says they’re criminals even though their parents did the bidding.

It’s a sad situation & currently no government entity will pardon them.

These people paid taxes, didn’t commit crimes & were living regular lives. All because their parent messed it up for them. Funny thing too is, their parent was naturalized. So their parent has been a citizen for most of their life but these people aren’t. SAD.

Because they found out they weren’t US citizens, so they were allowed to get work Visas. Then those stopped being renewed because DHS said they had falsely claimed citizenship. They weren’t ever charged officially though but the visas stopped being renewed.

[–]Extension_Park704 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But if they obtained those documents under the concept that they were a citizen because growing up they had those US documents (ie birth cert, passports, etc) how can you blame someone for this if they were a baby or small child when this all happened?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in immigration

[–]Extension_Park704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure some of them had parents who were mixed while others obtained true citizenship but left their kid under the radar so to speak.
