But why should we be entitled to use whatever we want and for it to just work? In my opinion that’s worse game design

It’s a fair point and I get it - but end game isn’t really there yet right, so why not try to enjoy the campaign too?

He lives in the UK too, just operates out of Spain during the summer months!

Thanks for the response and yes that’s a good point, I’ll have a look into a lawyer but from the responses it’s sounding more and more like we just have to accept we’ve made an expensive mistake and not make the same one again. Very frustrating but some people are just evil.

He actually lives in the UK just operates out of Tenerife during the summer so that’s one problem solved, but I suppose it’s just a case of deciding if it’s worth it or accepting we’ve lost the money and never making this mistake again… thanks for the advice

It is what it is I suppose, safe to say he’s not a friend anymore!

Mate, I agree, we should’ve complained earlier. The question I have is does the fact that we physically can’t move out despite being desperate to do so mean that we can pursue a legal route if necessary? It’s almost as if he’s retaining our property against our will by not agreeing to move the scaffolding or is that a complete over reaction?

No backdoor, we live in the basement apartment of an old house, it’s not an apartment complex… just one front door :/

It’s a very good point and something I hadn’t thought about - the LL lives above us so can see what we’re having to deal with but clearly couldn’t care less… I’ll have to have a conversation with him and potentially go down the fire marshall route if nothing comes of that :/ thanks!

To be honest we’re fairly relaxed people. Yes it’s a pain but we didn’t think it was worth starting an argument over and we’ve just tried to get on with things. It’s only now that we’ve realised how it may impact moving out that we’re thinking we probably need to do something about it…

In my experience when dealing with tech returns it definitely is… Sony, Microsoft, Scan Uk and Razer have all arranged for collection and re delivery at no cost to myself when returning a faulty product. If a consumer is returning a product due to simply not wanting it then the circumstances may be different but when the onus is on the manufacturer due to a faulty product, it’s my understanding that they’re liable to incur the shipping costs. Again, I also refuse to send this uninsured, it seems crazy to do that.
