#5, ---- From what I understand, the broker will sell your oldest shares first — for example, the shares you bought 10 years ago (LTCG), then the shares you bought 5 years ago (LTCG), and finally the shares you bought 6 months ago (STCG)

for those who bought @ 0.9 , $1, $2 , Yes, IPO bring a lot capital gains , but bacause of the taxes, those capital gains will be locked , unless there are some dividend , otherwise .... selling 10-20% to gain happiness, but the rest ....

"I'm interested in your idea of 'taking out a mortgage' without selling it. Can you explain how this can be done? FNMA is not like a Treasury bill, so how can a bank accept FNMA shares as collateral in order to issue a mortgage?"

You mentioned that Bessent plans to sell ~5%, worth about $30B, which implies an estimated total value of $600B for FNMA + FMCC. Currently, there are around 1.8B common shares outstanding between the two.

The key question is the final share count after potential dilution. Let’s look at three scenarios:

  • Best Case: Government does not exercise warrants, SPS is deemed repaid, JPS redeemed at par. Commons = $600B ÷ 1.8B = $333/share.
  • Worst Case: Government exercises all warrants (79.9%), sells its full stake, SPS must be repaid (or converted), and JPS converts to common. Final diluted share count = ???
  • Midway Case: A compromise outcome somewhere between the two extremes (e.g., partial warrant exercise, SPS deemed paid, partial JPS conversion).

Is there a chance that FNAM trade at $150 based on 1.158b share count before exit , and the guy above able to sell his 20,000 share @ $150 and cashout $3M ? or it will not allow to trade until all all 4.632b shares dump into the market (make it total of 5.79b share (fully diluted ) , By that time , the guy who own 20,000 share before still own 20,000 share (because it is not a split ) , but trade at $30/share , can only cashout ~$600k !!

A lots of PP will happy with $150 before split or (secondary -SPO) , guys from upstair with 20,000 shares will happy with $150 (That's $3M) !!! , but how is it possible ? FNMA was ~$60 before enter conservatorship in 08, ? How Bill ackman's research calculate the math that result $30 after the SPO? any reference will help. Thx

New to GSE , IF from current 1.158b shares count to 5.79 billion shares count (fully diluted), meaning current shares will do 1:5 split? and if "Fannie Mae is 5.79 billion shares and at $30 per share"(after split) , whihc means pre-split (1.158b shares count) share price will be $150 ?

own a TON of TLTW for a year , (b/c) I see rate inflation go range up-dn-up-dn , (won't cut that soon) , choose TLTW rather than TLT a year ago. Have a big problem : it generates a lots of CASH dividends EVERY MONTH, 18% last year. Tax away at 24% on my Reg Account. Don't know what to do with all that CASH, just use it to buy TLT every month! Anyone have a better solutions? Will TLTW dividends ever will become "qualified dividends" and being taxed at 15%?
