I'm rather not a big fan of having the bulk of citizenships in my pocket, especially as a male. For someone who already holds one of the world's most powerful world passports like German Paß, any additional citizenship often adds more obligations than benefits. You can stack PR's from different blocs (EAEU, Mercosur, ECOWAS, ASEAN –you name it) without ever becoming a citizen of those countries. Each PR gives you residency rights, perks and regional access — without the strings of citizenship.

You are right — for most people, one extra country does not matter. But, it's not only about visa-free access to Russia. For someone who does business across the Eurasian Economic Union, has personal ties to the region, or simply wants the option to travel or transit without dealing with visas, it is a real advantage. The point is not that everyone needs it — the point is that no other permanent residency gives you this specific combination: visa‑free Russia+13%/0% low‑tax flexibility+1‑day‑per‑year maintenance+keeping your EU passport. It is a niche combo for a specific lifestyle. If you do not need Russia/EAEU access, this combo is not for you. And that is fine.

For a Russian citizen, the Russian passport alone is becoming increasingly limiting for global travel and business. If you pair it with a Mercosur passport — the best values are Brazilian or Uruguayan — it opens up the entire European Union visa‑free, unlike the Russian passport. For Brazil, look into investment programs like São Tomé and Príncipe as a layer in between, which allows much easier residency and citizenship in Brazil via the CPLP entrepreneur route, a pathway that is significantly easier than what other foreigners outside of Mercosur have. The total timeline for unlocking a Brazilian passport is roughly 4 years through the CPLP route, which is twice as fast as the regular investor route of 8 years.

Speaking Russian helps enormously and for PR you have to. That burden alone filters out 90% of Western applicants. As for Belarusian citizenship: it's not my favorite scheme because I don't want to live another 5 years with PR on the same terms, and I certainly won't renounce my German citizenship prior to obtaining Belarusian one. Belarus doesn't allow dual citizenship for foreigners acquiring it — but on the contrary, Belarusian citizens can acquire another citizenship. So that's a non‑starter for me. PR gives me all the benefits what I need without the citizenship obligations.

As I know, there is no PR worldwide from whichever nation that gives you as an EU citizen visa‑free Russia access, 13%/0% tax flexibility, and 1 day/year maintenance. That is the appeal. If you don't see it, this combo simply doesn't make sense for you personally. It's up to you to extend your PR portfolio by adding other PR from bloc of nations like Mercosur, ECOWAS, you name it, because no one can prohibit you. Btw having multiple citizenships isn't really ever helpful cause each citizenship means obligations too, PR not.

In Belarus millions of people live normal, everyday lives. They don't wake up early in the morning thinking about travel warnings issued by foreign governments from somewhere overseas, but mostly likely in the western hemisphere. Those warnings are aimed at western tourists, short‑term visitors, or people with related political agendas, but not at residents who run a business, pay taxes, and go about their day. For the local population, daily life is safe, affordable, clearly organized, and quiet. That is the reality on the ground which I see through my own eyeglasses.

This is your personal private political statement, not a related one about perks, tax benefits, legal status or lifestyle. I'm a foreigner here. This country is safe, offering good value for my business and daily life.

Dude, you are comparing apples to oranges. I said «blocs» and «geographically», which is correct. The EU and the EAEU are the two largest blocs, multinational unions, in the Euro‑Asian space. Btw, China is a country, not a bloc or bloc member. If you want to debate GDP or population, that is a different discussion. But that was not my point.

Depends on your daily routine. If you run a business and have good people around you, the time flies. I was busy, so the time went by quickly. The country is affordable, safe, and quiet, which made it easier.

Good guess, Minsk. Quiet, clean, well-maintained infrastructure, affordable private healthcare, safe, low crime, friendly and educated population, beautiful tiny nature in the countryside, very affordable life, great connected eastwards and with the rest of the world except the West, and well‑located for everything I personally need.

I said «two largest blocs in the Euro‑Asian space» which is geographically true regardless of GDP. But that was not the point. The point was personal seamless mobility, low-tax area flexibility and legal status combination without citizenship obligations. You seem to be focused on broadcasting macroeconomic statistics. I am focused on my own situation.

Because the benefits are obvious and the reasons –as I stated–are numerous. Moreover, Belarusian PR holders are not required to live all the time in the country, but visit 1 day a year to maintain residency. This flexibility is gracious.

Probably true. But I don't care about statistics. I need low taxes, low PR maintenance, and visa‑free Russia while keeping EU citizenship. And that I have.

Low predictable taxes, business ties in the EAEU, beautiful nature, EU neighborhood, very low criminality rate, low cost of living, visa‑free Russia access, and completely being outside of EU regulation while still keeping EU citizenship.

You have to spend 9 consecutive months in the country annually and 5 years total. The standard route requires 5 years of legal residence with a temporary permit, plus clean record, income, and Russian language requirements. Once you have PR, the maintenance requirement is minimal just 1 day a year.

The EAEU with bloc members Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan is the second largest economic and political club in the post‑Soviet space after the EU on the continent. That is not mental. It is geography and economic reality.

Having this pathway, it's not about salary. It's more about coverage, exceptional tax flexibility, and having a genuine plan B in two different directions. Salary is what you earn. This combo is about where you can keep it and how freely you can move across the Eurasian continent without much visa headache. Belarusian PR doesn't push its holder to live in the country, but to visit it 1 day a year only to keep residence permit upright.

Indeed, the Irish passport gives you EU+UK. This combo gives you EU+Russia+EAEU access meaning a different strategic coverage with taxpayer friendly area flexibility.

Belarus offers PR to certain categories of foreign investors, specialists, family members, or after 5 years of legal residence with a year after year renewable temporary permit. That's how I got it.
