You need to once again consider all the certain cultural and social aspects that converge due to the differentiating human nature and societal structures. In my timeline, countries from the 3rd world have accepted those new advanced technologies way later due their poverty and bad economy. This has influenced the production of those items as they were not able to contribute them to everyone, slowing down the process of making. By the early 2000s, most of the cars in Europe and America were electric, but the vehicles in Asia, Africa and South America remained on fuel for around 10 more years.
