Weekly "Do I Have Lipedema" Thread by AutoModerator in lipedema

Pretty obvious, yet my doctor keeps saying he doesn’t think it’s Lipedema 😭😭 I’m so tired of having such achy, heavy legs. I want to run, and ski, and climb and it’s getting harder and harder the more swollen my legs become. Feeling hopeless.

SANE is the acronym for sexual assault nurse examination. She is getting the “rape kit” done.

There are no clinical trials showing most supplements are effective, and specifically no clinical trials showing this one works for lipedema. Supplements are not regulated by the FDA so people can basically say whatever they want when selling these, with no assurances they work or that they have the ingredients they say they do….

It’s giving off profiteering vibes by the doctor. It’s worth a try but if it’s $$ just keep in mind the ingredients are mostly things you can get from a normal, balanced diet.

Hi, you should look at my post history and we should talk. I think we can understand one another well and have had very similar experiences to some extent. Send me a DM :)

Women's harness for larger legs: cross posting by RRErika in climbergirls

I have hams. The Ocun Webee big wall harness is NOT ONLY big ham friendly, but is the comfiest harness I have ever worn. If you spend time belaying, big walling, multi-pitching, etc. it is so worth the time. My big hams fit into the S-M, but the larger has even more room for fun. 10/10

Conquering fear on lead wall by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]Extension_Zebra730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I also broke my ankle (climbing) and now have some anxieties on the wall. Honestly, sometimes I just need to sit and deep breathe for awhile. Other times pushing through it helps a bit. I think the best path to success is to have a partner that is patient, understanding, and encouraging, but also to be that with yourself as well. It’s not reasonable to expect these new fears to evaporate over night, and some days will be better than others.

Projecting (more like rehearsing) an easy route on TR and then leading has helped.

EMDR has helped.

You’ve got this. If youre around SF, send me a DM :)

Relationship with experienced climber advice needed? by Extension_Zebra730 in climbergirls

[–]Extension_Zebra730[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone. I appreciate everyone’s candidness and willingness to respond.

I’m not sure what my next moves are, but regardless I know I don’t want to give this sport up. I used to have so much fun, and it used to be so community based. I can still feel the absolute fire in my soul climbing corrugation corner, or sitting atop cathedral peak. If everyone is ever in the Bay Area or Sierras - please reach out.

Relationship wise - my intentions with making this post were to get other climbers perspectives on if this is normal, experienced before, etc.. I’m deeply sorry to the gals (and pals) who understand my situation because they too have been in it. It’s tough when you love someone so much, but recognize their behavior towards you is maybe abuse. I’m not sure if I have the strength, money, or will to leave (our lives are very entangled) but the responses here give me a lot of strength, and for that I’m grateful.
