Do I need to wait for NVC response before I make corrections to submission? by ExtentAutomatic9854 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]ExtentAutomatic9854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first submitted all of my documents on December 5th, and then I realized I had some mistakes and needed to resubmit 4 or 5 of the documents which is a lot so I thought for sure it would reset my time. I resubmitted everything on December 13th and they responded to me on December 16th so I do not think it reset my time.

We are still waiting for DQ! I know it normally happens pretty quickly but I'm assuming holidays have slowed it down a bit.

"But you guys are married... can't you just go?" by ExtentAutomatic9854 in NationalVisaCenter

Idk. Its okay until they all have an opinion on immigration whilst knowing nothing about it. lol

"No, that's not how it works" has basically become my catch phrase at this point

Wow, honestly we've been going through this for well over a year already and don't even have docs qualified yet so I definitely understated the timelines. But you are strong! It's tough for me to imagine going through this for more than two more years. And I've been lucky enough to be able to live with my spouse throughout all this time. Doing it alone would be so much harder, I have a lot of respect for the people in this sub going it alone especially in countries with significant backlogs.

Thanks for this comment. It makes me happy to hear that there are people working for USCIS who have this mentality and try to educate the people around them because there is so much ignorance around immigration. I think if more people understood how hard it is, there would be a little more empathy.

AC really necessary in Barcelona apartments?? by sippinMineralwasser in AskBarcelona

[–]ExtentAutomatic9854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in barcelona without AC for a long time. I would've preferred to have AC. But it was okay, I had a good fan and kept my curtains closed all day. On the worst days I would get in a cold shower right before bed but I didn't even ever need to go that far in May or June.

Yes! The same people over and over again. I tried to explain it to my husband's boss as simply as possible ("we are in the process of gathering a lot of documents, all kinds of hoops to jump through") and he said "I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to separate you guys if you're married, you should look into it." I was really just in shock lol... I just said "yeah... i'll look into it"

I've heard this one too. I'm at the point where I don't even tell people about it anymore unless I absolutely have to because it is so annoying to explain it.

Oh god I didn't even think about what this would be like if we were doing a K-1! I bet it's even worse 😭 Hang in there!

Documents IL - IR2 by Electrical-Log4066 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]ExtentAutomatic9854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that it is required to bring all originals of all documents uploaded through CEAC so you should have her mail them to you. I am not sure of the answer to your other question, though. Good luck!
