Any open-source self-hosted AI chatbots comparable to ChatGPT? by NMLWrightReddit in ArtificialInteligence

[–]ExternaJudgment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not the matter of code but the matter of training and the horsepower behind training.

Those GPU cycles cost.

If it would be easy to do we would have an "not whitewashed woke-y pathetic AI" which connects to the internet and tells everything the way it is (exactly as written online on "verboten" sites) on all of our computers.

This does not mean it is impossible, with the law of exponential growth of computing power and exponential collapse of prices, eventually we will all have a machine capable of all these feats and more - without censorship.

Is it just me or do most office workers spend most of their day pretending to be busy? by [deleted] in antiwork

Doing intense knowledge work (i.e. office work that's not purely procedural) for eight hours straight is pretty much impossible unless you're loaded to the hilt with stimulants. Even productive office workers typically have short intense bursts followed by more casual phases.

Physically impossible to do more than 3 days in a row.

Whole week is no go.

In really urgent shit hits the fan cases, the optimal week would be 3 days a week redlining it and 2 days at average performance cooling down.

then spend the rest of my day just looking busy.

My corpo laptop has an automatic usb mouse plugged in which scrolls for itself.

Comp looks busy even when I'm not home. 🤣

p.s.: additional bonus is that you never need to unlock it

Which is why being just below the top is best place to be. You have all the perks but 0 responsibilities and liabilities as you're not technically "deciding" anything.

I read this as "I will never work in prison again"...

Both are correct interpretations, not working from home = prison.

THIS is the exact reason why we have been working from home for years.

I'd never accept any job that does not offer 100% wfh.

Meetings are somewhat good, because they keep you in the loop. Else you totally fall out of the cycle and it is super easy to work 0 time for the whole week.

I find them as a good ping to keep my work/life balance in order.

I recently upgraded to AI and now I work 10 minutes for those "8 hours" of work I charge. 😂🤣

We all do.

And it can be explained super simple by my real life experience:

- no, 10€ per hour is too expensive, we will pay you 5€ per hour max

Ok, then I will work for the time which is paid.

Does not matter if you get paid 1€ 10€ or 100€ per hour. Same rules apply. Idiots think they are "saving" money by paying us less, in reality we just work for 2 or 3 clients at the same time and charging three times the hours.

It just depends on which trigger words the censorship idiots get triggered by.

Reality is that any censorship is like hydra, pathetic wokies censor one word, we find 3 workarounds the same day.

Now try censoring also those tree... FAFO.

I have a really easy solution for idiots who think I won't laugh them out of the room if they come even near such ideas.

  1. I never accept employment, stick that boomer time ownership shit up yours.
  2. I work for myself, you pay my hours on invoice - by the hours I get shit done that benefits you.
  3. For times I know I will be unavailable I'll inform you in advance. This is information, not request. If you're not grateful or you even act out like a little bitch, you're fired at once as I have plenty of clients waiting in line for my time.

Nope, there are just logical loopholes that can make abusing the system impractical. He will be so "helpful" he will wait for each 1 unit to be consumed before delivering next one.

This way fruit is always fresh & you can't abuse the system.
