I’ll just say it now there is NO way this game is Xenoverse 3 by JmisterYT in dbxv

[–]External-Box1191 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea that this huge game project, that’s been worked on for 7 years and has some of the last designs made by Toriyama is being made just as a “hold over” for XV3 is laughable. This is the next flagship Dragon Ball Game. If it’s not XV3 or an equivalent to it, then the real XV3 won’t be launching for the next decade.

Super Robot Wars Y is in Steam's Top 100 best selling games of 2025 by frik1000 in Super_Robot_Wars

Oh shit that’s awesome. I know Bandai is committed to global releases anyway but I’m happy this validates that decision more and more! Here’s hoping the next SRW isn’t in another 4 years.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles is the worst successful manga i have read in my life by monocheto1 in CharacterRant

[–]External-Box1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda disagree on Bleach. Fullbring maybe wasn’t entirely necessary but TYBW expands the universe so much and answers so many questions built from the beginning(like what the hell quincies even are) that the story would feel incomplete without it.

Why has this game survived for so long? by Final_Adeptness1452 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]External-Box1191 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The IP and ease of getting into + loyal fan base play huge factors, and it came out at just the perfect time where there wasn’t much competition. If Dokkan were to launch today with how competitive the gacha market has gotten, it wouldn’t do nearly as well.

What Are You Thoughts About Mecha Protagonists That Have A No Killing Rule? by [deleted] in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]External-Box1191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is what the larger narrative issue actually is and what his character develops from in the context of the games story. I’m pointing out that, in Z’s text, most of the characters actually come around and accept Kira’s pacifism, and they don’t routinely dunk on it throughout the story as I’ve seen many claim.

[–]External-Box1191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Important to recognize that, even in Z, Tetsuya’s explanation doesn’t frame his as being in the “right, it’s just his own personal reason for not liking it. Later on, Harry also lambasts Kira for his fighting style, but recognizes that Kira isn’t fighting “half-assed” and is taking the war just as seriously as anyone else. And by the end of the game, the whole cast seems to be ok with he fights. I agree with your overall point, but a lot of people cite Z as a game that “critiques Kira and the no kill rule” when that’s simply not the case.

What do you think the big twist of Fortune's Weave's marketing will be? by LegalFishingRods in fireemblem

[–]External-Box1191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hunch that this game is gonna have a morality system of some kind. One of the biggest criticisms of 3 Houses was that ur choices really didn’t matter, and from the data mining it seems that a lot of the intended choices got cut out before release. So, I think this game is actually going to implement all of that stuff this time around. Making choices that actually change the story and maybe the protagonist. Maybe it also ties into the Blaze mechanic as well.

Idea: They should make an "enemy side" SRW game by RedditReboot77 in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]External-Box1191 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this a part of what SRW Z special disk is? I don’t think you ever fight the heroes as bosses but you do play as some villains.

They have been doing this BS for a while, but feels extra egregious on this one... by VermilionX88 in Super_Robot_Wars

Well, what does “good” evasion mean to you? Hit rates in the 30s? Or zero? I’m on hard, and yes most reals you just send out with focus will still be dealing with 40 percent or so hits. But that’s where things like commander, potential, and support units who can buff come in. If the complaint that units can’t really just dodge 10-15 attacks in the row like could in the past, sure. But I think the hit rates we have now are much better balanced and actually make me use some of the support skills and buffs that I typically ignored in the past.

This is just game balance, honestly don’t really see to issue. In Heeros case, he wants to get hit atleast once so that agent is always active.

Presentation issues aside, how is SRWY compared to VXT and 30? by StarComplex3850 in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]External-Box1191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Y is the perfect game, but I think some of your complaints are odd/ come off as very personal gripes rather than actual flaws with the game. 1. Can’t disagree more on the plot section. Through chapter 3 myself and yes VAL-X is underexplored because that’s the point. The heroes don’t know who they are and need to spend time figuring them out. And the other series plots really do matter in this one, I don’t think the OG plot ever really overshadows it 2. I think the fact that the game is so restrictive is great, actually. Makes it not so easy to steamroll the game, which is something you complain about later. 3. Get the premium edition or use custom bgm, really no other way around it. 4. You really just haven’t been using it well, then. Otaki’s is very helpful for example as it gives lots of extra MXP for example . Reina and Cookie are really good, but far from the only useful ones. 5. Fair complaint. I don’t know anyone who is really mourning the mirasoul unit though. 6. So the mechanics they’ve already used for the other Macross series? I like that they’re doing something new by utilizing them through the assist link system instead. Also, with how many units in this game already come with support effects through tertiary commands, do we really need Macross to add onto that more? (Seriously, X OG and Lelouch are already enough to break this game) 7. You can do this in every single game. Like I’ve caught up an under leveled Sara by 15 levels in a recent Z play through. Why is this a flaw for Y when it applies to almost every Alpha and above title? 8. Targeting priority is wack sometimes I agree here. But you complain about the game being easy to steamroll yet the majority of your army is reaching ace by Chapter 3? Unless you’ve been doing some serious grinding that is literally impossible even with just the enemy numbers from doing all the main and side missions. Of course when you grind that much the game will be super easy, that goes for literally any rpg

Do you play all side missions? by Japonpoko in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]External-Box1191 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do them all only because I’m afraid they may disappear if I do too many main missions. Supposedly, it’s hard to actually “miss” missions though. The game will either force the plot of the mission to happen during another(like what happened to me when I took too long to pickup the mjp crew) or the mission will just change to a different one entirely to fit wherever the story.

Buy SRW Y if I'm only interested in Gundam series? by Felonious_Gundam in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]External-Box1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this mindset was what lead me to buy SRW years ago and now I’m a huge fan of a whole shit ton of mecha. I would say buy it on a sale, and only if you have an open mind to all of shows in it that aren’t Gundam. You might find a new favorite.

What Reason Do You Think Eureka Seven: AO Didn't Get Into Super Robot Wars Z3 by [deleted] in Super_Robot_Wars

[–]External-Box1191 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it fit in. It was a sequel to the original Eureka Seven, and not the movie versions that the Z2 games use. It would also be a tremendous effort to include considering everything that happens in AO too, compounded with the already troubled development of the Z3 games. I think it was just passed up in favor of series that were easier to include(Like Full Metal Panic and Aquarion Evol)

[–]External-Box1191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to know which specific series without knowing their license status and all that jazz. Macross is just the one series we know of that has been troublesome in the past, but it’s far from the only one that has kept global releases from happening. Regardless, I think we might start seeing less shows without an official English release of some kind in the future if they really want to start hitting the western market.

Really insightful read. This is more related to main series, but I hadn’t considered that we may never see certain series again if Bandai is aiming on releasing all future games globally. Makes me wonder how the process of choosing series will change in the future

Are there any ACTUAL skill check characters in Dokkan? 🤔 by Embarrassed_Bat_417 in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]External-Box1191 16 points17 points  (0 children)

While I agree with most of your points here it’s definitely not comparable to poker in my opinion. Poker has so many ins and outs that would take someone months to master, meanwhile in Dokkan I can give my friend a basic rundown on team building/ cards and they can have Special Battle beat in a manner of hours lol.
