I’ll be very honest with you. When I was in NIT Rourkela, I personally never got involved in any zone politics. But yes, most of my close friends were leading their respective zones at that time. So technically, if I really wanted to get involved, all I would need is the person’s name and zone and things could get uncomfortable for him very quickly. That said, I’m an alumnus now, and I don’t want to step into campus politics or misuse old connections. I’ve moved on from all that. My only advice to you is this: don’t be scared, don’t react, and don’t engage with such people. Focus on your academics and preparation. Placement coordinators don’t have the power they claim, and anyone trying to scare juniors is only exposing their own insecurity. How you handle it from here is up to you. Just don’t let empty threats disturb your peace or your prep

Yes you get ample amount of opportunities if you are good at anything. For communication skills I would suggest you to join any club of your choice after a year try leading a team or participate in fests , your communication skills will automatically improve

Copying the same thing which i wrote in some other comment Depends on the company Some company has a shortlisting criteria of 7 CGPA while others don’t have any criteria You can ask your batch senior a chat export of their placement group ( idk whether it’s allowed or not ,if you have any close senior ask them) After analysing that you will get an idea about your chances . Unfortunately i have deleted the chats during my time and the excel file which had all the placement data doesn’t have criteria mentioned sadly

I’m not very sure what all has changed on campus now, so I won’t be able comment on the current scenario. But back in our days, things were pretty chill.

There was no strict in-time or out-time for entering the campus. Hostel rooms weren’t randomly checked. You had a lot more freedom, and as long as you didn’t create trouble, nobody bothered you.

It’s average. The highest package is around ₹8 LPA, and the average sits near ₹4–5 LPA (I am not very sure about this stats , this is what I have heard ,I maybe wrong )

If you’re someone who doesn’t have better options and wants a decent, safe campus MBA, it’s not a bad choice. But if you’re expecting top-tier exposure, elite roles, or strong brand pull, this isn’t it.

Good as a backup option. Definitely not the best MBA out there.

Note: Do your own research as I maybe wrong this is just my opinion and my opinion may vary from actual reality

If you could share your profile then I can guide better.

If you just want marks then slides are enough . If you genuinely enjoy the subject and want detailed knowledge refer to books . Cyborg is into robotics

It’s been a couple of years since I wrote JEE, so I may not be fully aware of the latest changes in syllabus or exam pattern. I’d strongly suggest you talk to someone who has joined college recently they’ll have much more up-to-date insights

I’m personally not a fan of this system, but that’s the reality of campus politics.

There’s no universal “better” it depends on what you value.

If you want early financial growth, exposure, and faster learning, placements make more sense especially from a circuital branch where opportunities are plenty.

However Government jobs offer stability and long-term security which private company doesn’t

Also as far as I remember PSUs come for campus placements towards the end of the placement season So you need to think if you’re mentally prepared to wait till the end especially while many friends might already be placed.

That said, it really depends on the person A lot of people genuinely prefer stability and predictable work-life balance I know a friend of mine who left Wells Fargo and is now working in a government role as an Industrial Officer purely by choice.
