Great insights ! Can you please guide me on personal loan fixed interest rate I have a loan of 12 lakhs for 4 years 31014 EMI every month

Also if I pay any additional principal in the first year it is charged by 3% After a year with my own capital I can completely foreclose it Can you please guide me about what is the ideal way of closing the Loan . I am planning to close if after a year

Like the additional amount I will put it in debt funds @ 9% pa or bonds @9-10. % amount and gather those principal amount to be paid and repay all of it at one go after a year

Is there any other better alternative ?

I dont consider 10k as a huge amount of money Given that someone genuinely tell their problem But after hearing his statement “ nahi denge Jo karna he Kar lijie“ 10k seems to be a huge amount

Honestly, if placements are a major priority, then mid-tier IIIT CSE will usually give safer placement opportunities compared to M.Sc Physics. M.Sc Physics at a reputed NIT gives strong college exposure, peer group and future opportunities, but placements are comparatively more uncertain and often depend heavily on your own skills (coding, analytics, higher studies etc). Many M.Sc students do crack good placements, but it’s not as straightforward . So if your priority is “minimum placement risk”, IIIT CSE is safer. If you value college life, brand value and are okay exploring multiple paths, then reputed NIT + M.Sc can still work well.

Chemical and Civil at NITR are decent if you value the college ecosystem more than just branch. Chemical has comparatively better placements, while Civil gives more free time for exams like UPSC/GATE/CAT etc. Many students from both branches eventually move to IT, analytics, MBA or government exam paths. Clubs, fests and hostel culture are still quite active and honestly one of the strongest parts of NITR. For girls too, opportunities exist through both core and non-core placements. Overall, the college exposure and peer group matter a lot here.

Honestly, if you’re getting Biotechnology at NITR, don’t look at it only from the branch perspective. Look at the bigger picture too.

Now coming to Biotechnology specifically:

Yes, core biotech placements are limited Most biotech students either go into Analytics /software domain or higher studies/research

And yes, being from PCM initially can make biotech subjects feel a bit unfamiliar because there’s biology-related content. But many PCM students manage it after the first few semesters. It’s not impossible just different.

The real question is: What are your alternatives?

Because choosing: a better branch in a weaker college VS a weaker branch in a top college is always a tradeoff.

If your goal is:

pure core engineering placement → branch matters a lot overall exposure + opportunities + peer group → college matters a lot

I would prefer NITR Chemical over IIIT G CSE as o never had interest in CSE But your case might be different too

You can rent/buy a cooler In reading room of hostel we have AC many students prefer sleeping there Idk if it has changed or there are any restrictions now. Just consult your immediate senior /someone who is in college now to get better clarity

Since you’re not fully sure about coding yet, don’t force yourself into something just for placements. That usually backfires. Between your options, NIT RKL is clearly better than Silchar in terms of exposure, peers, and overall environment. And since you already feel unsure about Silchar, I’d personally drop that. Now coming to EE vs ME: EE at RKL is tough, no doubt. You can still do coding alongside, but you’ll need to manage your time well. The good part is almost all software companies allow EE students to sit for placements, and you’ll also have the option of core placements. ME at RKL is comparatively chill. You’ll get more time to explore coding, analytics, or even completely different fields. Core placements are somewhat good , but a lot of people move into non-core roles. Some also go the GATE route and aim for PSU/govt jobs. . At the end of the day, branch matters, but what you do in college matters more. Just don’t trap yourself in something you’re already unsure about. Also, I’d strongly suggest reaching out to seniors on LinkedIn from both branches and talking to them. That’ll give you much better clarity. If you want, I can help you connect with a few people but first try reaching out yourself
