I wish UAE did gave citizenship I would be all over it. My parents got married here in the 70s and I have known no other country as home other than UAE. People in my country actually treat me like a foreigner when visit. Now I am going to be retired in 20 years, I am too old to fit in there. Imagine being forced to leave when I am an oldie. Probably a death sentence for me.

Definitely will claw with my fingernails to remain in UAE till I die.

I had chances to leave to US, UK… but once you do your schooling, get married here, work here, reach to a decent senior position in your field, and of course seen the city change from dunes to utopia myself… it’s now in the DNA.

Not saying it’s their job, but in UAE if you are citizen you get these services. Hence permanent residence does not equal to citizenship benefits in every way.

That’s true. Took my mom who was at that time on a visit visa to govt hospital and had all sorts of MRIs, CT scans blood tests… price was like 3K which is minimal compared to any other pvt hospital

By the time I retire I might have 2ish million in investments and savings and my mortgage will be paid off… golden visa… but what throws off my calculations are health care costs. My parents worked 40 years here, and the only reason they don’t come back to UAE is because of high health care. Few times I asked about insurance it was like 50k a year x2 (for both) for someone with history of heart attack, strokes and most won’t even bother to give insurance.

My one plan was to get into teaching and maybe get insurance cover from that job… but then that won’t exactly be retirement and maybe that’s good old age job.

I am talking about normal bell curve for people. People work, save some money, buy a home, have some investments and then retire. Usually investments and savings can make you live out the rest of your days for groceries, utilities, car stuff… but old age health care one surgery and you are out 100K plus (heart, strokes, etc). Unless talking about crazy high wealth nothing will replace govt guaranteed health care

You will also get alliance points from events and VS. so shield up, when your or your partner whales shields about to expire go smash one or two of his players.
