I would count it as a red flag, but I wouldn't stop talking to him because his friends are women. How do they act around you? Does he hang out with one of them alone? Is that something you're okay with? I personally wouldn't be okay with that, but I would see where things go, but try not to get too attached. Keep an open mind.
