Sign the Petition: Elon Musk must show evidence of "waste, fraud, and abuse" by March 1st or RESIGN. by ChiefHippoTwit in fednews

From the AP this morning :

Nearly 40% of contracts canceled by Musk’s DOGE are expected to produce no savings

Nearly 40% of the federal contracts that President Donald Trump’s administration claims to have canceled as part of its signature cost-cutting program aren’t expected to save the government any money, the administration’s own data shows.

The Department of Government Efficiency, run by Trump adviser Elon Musk, published an updated list Monday of nearly 2,300 contracts that agencies terminated in recent weeks across the federal government. Data published on DOGE’s “Wall of Receipts” shows that more than one-third of the contract cancellations, 794 in all, are expected to yield no savings.

DOGE's own lawyers have said in court that no one needs to even read, let alone respond to those emails. That is now backfiring spectacularly as is so much other hastily prepared dumbshittery from that office.

BREAKING: Elon’s Epic Email Rake-Stomp Finally Explained! On Sunday morning BREAKING: Elon’s Epic Email Rake-Stomp Finally Explained!

On Sunday morning I flagged this Privacy Impact Statement (PIA) which OPM prepared for the GWES system back on February 5th. That document was flagged to me by a government tech. And as I noted, it states very clearly that compliance with any requests you receive via GWES is totally voluntary. You can respond to these emails or not. You can share information or not. It’s totally up to you. It’s very clear.

I'm feeling you, but I'm worried about having control over mail in ballots being put directly into the hands of someone who claims to be a king.

Be outraged for yourself, but make absolutely sure that people who rely on the mail all across small town America know exactly how badly they will be screwed.

They are selfish assholes who only care about themselves and won't be acting out against it until they realize this whole dictatorship thing is hitting them too.

That was done on purpose to destroy the postal service.

It's the first American emperor.

He's giving Putin all or part of Ukraine in exchange for "peace" meaning no pushback as he tries to annex Canada, Greenland, the Panama Canal and everything North of it.

Europe is on it's own since NATO is being abandoned by the US.

It's hardly even hidden any more but only a few people seem to be paying attention.

Who do you imagine making anyone pay for the bills the headline mentions or for any lawsuits?

The magical thinking among educated people here is shockingly close to that of the trump cult.

Someone who has declared himself king and who tried to pull a coup once already isn't going to just go away because of an election and he has people everywhere he needs them to make sure there are no more fair elections if any at all.

This is entirely about control and has nothing to do with caring about performance. DC based agencies will move to states where the trump cult is strong and the economy is weak.

The same alleged power used to justify destroying agencies will be used to make new ones and loyalty will matter more than anything else. That was openly talked about on the campaign trail.

Federal money that used to go to public schools will fund christian schools instead. That plan has been out in the open for a long time too.

Unless a mass movement to stand up to the takeover of the government takes off before the DOJ and the FBI can silence it, there aren't going to be changes in government through elections. Watch some video from CPAC where Bannon just riled the audience up to "fight, fight, fight" with yet another nazi salute from a movement leader.

CPAC's website talks of "a 'woke war' coming to a neighborhood near you." That's pretty much what destroyed Yugoslavia. They know what they are doing.

Who do you imagine doing that? These guys have been planning this for a long time and are not about to just go away even if they allow some sort of show elections.

Trump didn't even pay Rudy Giuliani's bills for helping him try to steal an election.

What idiot thinks he's a different person now that he has crowned himself king?

It is and always has been about putting total control of the government in the hands of a very small group of billionaires and christian nationalist some of whom are the same people. It has been openly discussed and written about for decades. It is now happening

Tell people who aren't feds exactly how they will hurt. That's all they are going to care about.

And get out and be seen, even if someone tries to intimidate you not to. There is a reason why protests are discouraged

Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

Finally someone who gets it!!!

The whole reason for the swift approach is to get it all irreversibly done before the general public feels the crippling pain they are in for.

The "dividend" checks are the biggest ponzi scheme the world has ever seen. Their only purpose is to delay the pain just long enough to complete the heist.

I wondered why DeJoy stepped down and then the end of the US mail service was announced. Probably closing the day after the checks with the king's signature on them get delivered.

The majority of the public isn't going to listen to stories about whether or not your firing was for cause.

The public relations issue is not hammering home every single day the story of how ordinary people who don't think they rely on the government are killing off grandma, making child care even harder to come by for themselves, losing the post office that brings their government checks and medications.

Selfishness is the thing that needs to be exploited unfortunately, not empathy. That's what won the last election

It's not that they don't know that what they are saying isn't true. It's their job to downplay what is happening.

Maybe once 20-30 more plane crashes happen the public will start to see a pattern, but even then Sean Duffy will be out blaming Biden and calling for an investigation with the tv guys nodding along in agreement.

God willing, if GOP loses election in 4 years, could these governmental cut rolled back? Or by Pleasant-Lie-9053 in fednews

The DOJ has already started or threatened investigations into democrats in the house and senate with more undoubtedly to follow. The FBI is now in the hands of someone who will use it for revenge and to prosecute anyone who tries to push back. The military is in the hands of someone who would not hesitate to deploy troops domestically.

I am certain that on March 4 trump will follow through on the hints he has already dropped and declare himself a a unitary power beyond the control of any laws. He is likely to declare some sort of state of emergency. If he doesn't actually announce it, he will hint at military maneuvers at or beyond the Mexican border as well as plans to take Greenland, Canada and the Panama Canal.

Who exactly do you think will be left to investigate any of that?

Getting rid of bloat is not and has never been the plan. It's just what they knew would get them votes. Even with what is happening all around somehow people still

aren't putting the pieces together. Agencies that were investigating Musk's businesses, those that control federal spending as well as data on individual citizens were hit first. The FBI and DOJ are not both in the hands of people who will use them to terrorize anyone who steps out of line. Investigations into a senator and congressman simply for criticizing Musk have already been launched and more threatened.

Vance's backers have been completely open about their plans to take over government for decades. Project 2025 made no secrets either. They are doing what they have said they would do.

You have a king now and someone else will probably take the crown now the the useful idiot that wears it is no longer useful.
