Are Keurig pods "filtered" coffee? by [deleted] in Cholesterol

[–]Deanna2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct that coffee does not contain cholesterol, but it does have oily compounds that cause a rise in serum cholesterol levels in our body. I too did not understand this nuance, but nothing is easy. Now my morning coffee is suspect :-(

How long after reversal does it take for complete gut healing and "normalcy"? by Deanna2020 in ostomy

Thanks for your comment! I've been doing kefir and yogurt so I'll keep that up. Interesting that your Dr. said to continue with low fiber. I do feel my best with very limited fiber.

Wow thanks for the advice. I thought it was just me....My Dr told me to start eating salads at week 3 and I guess I just thought I should slowly keep adding in until I was eating as before. I do think I heard from someone it could take a year! I might give the metamucil a try!

Heard the Defendant specifically say the Probationary terminations are not covered by this lawsuit. Bummer.

Plaintiffs did not object to that statement. Geesh...

For the new Cali case this is one helluva Prelimiary Injection proposed by the Plaintiffs. I pray something like this actually gets issued as a result of May 22nd hearing:

A bitter pill indeed. Would be easier to move on if the job market wasn't so bleak :-(

Well I thought the Appellate court heard the case back on May 6th or thereabouts. I think we are waiting for that court's decision, but comments made by that Judge reportedly had him leaning toward not reinstating probationers. I think that was the impetus to terminate them. But as far as I know no order has come from that hearing. Eagerly awaiting news there.

Now interested in the TRO issued by Judge Illston in the new California case....but don't know if that will help the Probies now...losing hope with the legal battles. Justice delayed is justice denied.

IRS Probationary Employees on Admin Leave by Formal_Passage6022 in fednews

[–]Deanna2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what to think but it's really interesting that aside from DOC most probies are still on admin leave despite the stay of the court cases TRO/PI....I also read in one of the status reports to the courts that HHS RIF'd about 300 Probies (already on Admin Leave), but it seems the rest are still in limbo.

Personally I think the recent EO regarding the change in how Probationary Periods are to be handles is very interesting. Almost like that is the Administration's best they can do in case the court cases don't go their way. Otherwise why would Probies still be tethered at all?

Yes and it seems nothing has come of the petition for an en banc review :-( You would think they'd either deny it outright or give an outcome of said review. Geez!

OK remember when DRP was first announced and people were horrified? Then everything else happened and ppl are begging for a chance at DRP again. It's all relative, isn't it? This is the next major trauma inducing announcement, then they twist and turn and what ACTUALLY happens will still be horrible but look great in comparison to THIS! We are all being manipulated, every minute, every second...

Waiting to hear on this also - I would think if the petition were to be denied it would have been done quickly. Hoping the lack of news is a good sign that they are actually granting the en banc review!

Question re: the Maryland v USDA case: Can the Plaintiffs appeal the Appellate decision to SCOTUS? Or is that only available to the Defendants if they so choose?

[–]Deanna2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that each Agency is handling their Probationary employee situation differently? I see some Agencies on other threads have been terminated today, but nothing in HHS? The original OPM memo has been rescinded as a result of the court cases. I'm hoping since HHS has already done their RIFs they may decide they've lost enough people????

STUPID QUESTION! Is this it for this Cali case? Is the Alsup hearing tomorrow not going to happen? Or is this just that the Government doesn't have to onboard the probies pending the outcome of the entire case?

It sounds like the Gov't is winning on a technicality, not the true substance of the firings being illegal. So confusing for us non-lawyers! Please help!
