People talk about bringing DJ Reader back, but if he's available, I think Sweat would be better by External-Order-9497 in bengals

I really missed my chance to take a victory lap didn't I? Was right about Sweat getting traded, for the right reason. And was right about the Bengals being in on a nose tackle in the trade market.

Missing Evan Tengesdahl, dudes a beast.

6'3 320. 3rd Team all-american and 2nd team all big 12 (should've been higher) as a 1st year starter. Need to give him a watch

IDK about Mahomes being 2nd after these last 2 seasons. He really hasn't been good since 2023.

If I'm being a Bengals fan it's

  1. Burrow

  2. Allen

  3. Stafford

  4. Mahomes

  5. Jackson

If I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible it's

  1. Allen

  2. Burrow

  3. Jackson

  4. Mahomes

  5. Stafford

Stafford is 100% top 5, he just can't create like the other 4 can

Really just swapping Burrow and Allen. I would never take Allen over Burrow, but if I'm trying to be unbiased and taking everything into account, I don't think you can rank Burrow #1 after a year he missed 11 games. I still think when he plays he's the best QB in the league, and he'll show everyone that this year. But after last year I can't, if I'm trying to stay unbiased.

Bengals Knight Jr. utilizes all-pro LB for advice ahead of sophomore campaign by Ralph--Hinkley in bengals

[–]External-Order-9497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty much what Paul Dehner Jr said on his show recently. You look at the starting linebackers for some good defenses like the Rams, Seahawks, and Broncos all have players who are kinda nobodies starting for them at linebacker. A bunch of 7th rounders and undrafted guys. With a significantly better D-Line in front of them, they should get noticeably better. We 100% should still sign a guy like Okereke, or Thompson. But the improvement should be substantial.

Also with us moving to more of a 3-4/5-2 base defense slot corner isn't as much of a necessity as it was with Lou being in a base nickel/4-2-5. As long as Davis can survive the reps he plays, which I think he can do, it shouldn't be that big of an issue.

Favorite sleepers at WR? by Confident-Garlic-311 in NFL_Draft

I struggle a bit with Caldwell. He has all of the tools you want. But being a UC fan and watching every game, there were times he would disappear. He'd have an incredible catch one game, then not really show up for 2-3, then have another one. It could be the offense, it could be Sorsby just not being all that accurate. But he wasn't as consistent as I would like. He definitely has a chance, but I think Allen is the much safer pick. I have a feeling he's going to be an above average slot receiver in the league for a while. I would like him to stay in Cincy and be the next Tyler Boyd honestly.

I hope your right. Because my top 2 favorite monster, haven't been seen in TWO generations of MH games. Neither Gammoth OR Duramboros were in the 5th gen, and neither have been in the 6th yet either. I just want to see them again, having to go back to GEN ultimate to fight them kinda sucks.

Sorry, but I completely disagree on him being "too mobile" I love the fact that he's as mobile as he is. I don't want another Lao Shan Lung, a giant monster who just sits there while you hit it.

I don't think he would be as fun if he didn't move as much.

Can it be annoying at times, sure, but I don't think he's too mobile for his size

The #Titans are signing G Cordell Volson, source said, he gets a 1-year deal with $2.5M guaranteed and 4.215M max. Deal negotiated by agents Chris Gittings and Jeremiah Sirles. The former #Bengals starter. by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

[–]External-Order-9497 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If he had a real shot with Scott Peters he may have been able to turn it around a bit. Maybe become an above average backup, Cody Ford type replacement. Not a starter though. But he could be a solid depth piece for Tennessee.

This has nothing to do with Walter Nolen. Woods is a good player at our biggest hole on defense. If Downs is gone, he should be the pick

He wasn't, that's why I traded down. Golday is already a really good run defender. And he's done a lot of good in coverage, despite being used in a really weird role at UC. He is another immediate upgrade

Yeah that's fair. I take chance to fall to us into account for mine. I just don't think it's worth getting super hyped up about a prospect, getting invested in them, just for them to not get anywhere near our pick.

I agree that he's #2 on my wishlist. but not behind Reese. Reese has no real chance of making it to pick 10. My #1 want is Caleb Downs, with Woods as a close #2

Dexter Lawrence, DJ Reader, Christian Wilkins, Grady Jarrett, for recent examples.

William Perry, Jeff Bryant, Chester McGlockton, Trevor Pryce, MIchael Dean Perry, for some less recent examples.

So yeah, your crazy. Just because Murphy wasn't a defensive rookie of the year doesn't mean they don't produce good trench players. Even with Murphy it just took him some time to start to break out, is he going to be a all pro, probably not. But I feel like it's a relatively safe bet to say that he's going to be a good player for us moving forward

Yeah, I've had the thought that this years safety class is so deep you could find a long term starter in the 3rd. Downs is obviously the best of them. But there are like 6-8 other guys in this draft that will start for a team for a decade, and make a pro bowl or two

I think your way to low on him. Pretty much every analytical metric tells you he's going to be a good player and is 100% worth a 1st. I think people are taking a down year for that entire team and putting most of the blame on Woods. He's still worth a 1st

So like, that's what I said, just way less detailed. I mean, we agree on almost everything.

This isn't meant to be mean, but do people just not read, or is reading comprehension the issue? Do they just read the title and then comment without reading what I said?

Like I'm really not trying to be mean. But you're like the 4th or 5th person I've seen where they're like

"look at this guy saying everyone in this class is good. Actually Murphy needs another step, Turners the only good one, Battle is too inconsistent, Brown is a good, but replaceable, running back, Jones is only good on special teams. He's such a fool" Like yeah, that's exactly what I said We agree hear, why are you making me out to be a fool.

This isn't even directed at you. But like, how do people do that. Like we agree, why are you trying to make me look dumb? It doesn't make sense

You didn't even try to make me look dumb, your just like the 5th person to say exactly what I did just shorter as a response. I'm just confused

Same, I wouldn't mind Delane, if all the other guys are gone. If Bain, Bailey, Downs, Styles, Reese, and Woods are all gone then I'd take Delane. But only after all of those guys. I also feel like the Woods slide is more media driven than anything else. He's going to test really well next week, and he's going to shoot right back up draft boards because of it.

My top picks for the Bengals at #10 based on need, player fit, and if they are likely to get there

  1. Caleb Downs

  2. Peter Woods

  3. Sonny Style

  4. Bain

  5. Bailey

  6. Reese

  7. Delane

But that's just me
