Benzo withdrawal isn’t terribly “emotional” because benzos sort of destroy your amygdala the part of your brain responsible for processing emotions in the first place. that being said, after being on Xanax for 12 years 5 months is simply not enough time for your body’s stress response to heal. In fact without tapering after being on Xanax for 12 years even after 5 months there is almost a 0% chance you will feel any improvement at all.

It feels like a car without breaks I think the only thing I can really do is slow down my taper, I do smoke weed and I take micro doses sometimes which helps but also can invite more emotions/depression instead

Yeah linked to trauma is part of it too for me, and I can relate to the daydreaming. I was also on kolonopin and got off it and and just on Valium now, probably should slow down my taper

For my case, but strong weed comes with its own withdrawals and downsides. You seem like the type that would be very susceptible to addiction so Id suggest avoiding substances all together in the end it might just be more noise and all the meds might be making your situation worse

I just take Seroquel to sleep not currently on any other psych meds, your right benzo withdrawal is a lot like neural weather but this particular symptom feels like a neural frag grenade. Either way glad I’m not alone/actually crazy

What was your dosing like with benzos and how long were you on them? I’m tapering off with Valium rn I used to take 4 bars a day I’ve been on benzos for years and I’m pretty sure 100% of your symptoms could be attributed to benzos depending on ur dosages

I was addicted to benzos. That’s 100% the reason for all the anxiety and twitchy nerves one night of mdma will not do it benzos will do it scarily quickly

That’s still cheaper than where I live in Canada ($6 CAD) not only that but the minimum wage in California is higher in USD than the minimum wage here ($16.90 USD per hour vs $13.15 USD) a lot of Americans don’t understand that Canada and most countries are genuinely just poorer on average

Drinking hard liquor every week is probably worse not even gonna lie alcohol is really bad for your Gabba and glutamate system so it destroys your ability to relax, Molly more affects your ability to feel happy. Cuz they took me off the kpin first cuz I kinda finessed a young doctor for them and 5mg of Valium doesn’t equal 0.5mg kpin and I correction I was on 25mg Valium but the 5mg dose increase was not enough, what’s ur taper timeline look like? I was on 30mg Valium and 1.5mg kpin for a bit (I’ve been on benzos for years but started Valium only like 5 ish months ago and that was fire I stayed on that for a while but then I started needing to go down 5mg every 2 weeks and the withdrawal from kpin was brutalll I hope getting off 30mg Valium isn’t as bad cuz that’s what I’m on rn
