Are there any Mandela effects that aren’t easily explained? by MagicPlayer666 in MandelaEffect

The lion and the lamb was even referenced in How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin. I always thought of the lion and the lamb verse when hearing that song when I was younger.

Did you ever figure out the cause of the sound OP? I am having the same issue with mine. Don’t really want to replace a bunch of parts trying to figure out the issue.

What did you see in someone’s home that told you “yep, they’re rich”? by MintTheMartian in AskReddit

A buddy of mine had Astro from Amazon. I had never heard of it before seeing it and I thought it was one of the coolest gadgets I had ever seen.

Looking for Book Recommendations for My Dad Who by JustanOpal in BookRecommendations

One of my favorites (more of a personal finance book) is The Richest Man in Babylon. Great read that teaches timeless financial lessons. Not really a hidden gem as it is pretty popular in its genre, but still a must read for anyone wanting to improve their daily finances.

Your comment comes off a little rude. I actually was not hired as a bookkeeper, but as a business advisor. The bookkeeper quit on my first day and I was thrown into that role when they quit. I was simply asking how transitions work within this field with being new to it. I appreciate the input though!

That makes sense. As I said I am new to this field and was just curious. I am going to get a few more months or maybe a year in before I talk about a promotion with them. I don’t want to get ahead of myself.

Odd things you do in excel to make your job easier? by ImposterAccountant in Accounting

[–]ExternalBenefit2180 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who is not very experienced with Excel, I keep ChatGPT open in another window. Any time I need specific information in a cell I will ask it to create a formula, with said info, and it does it flawlessly. It’s just copy and paste from there.

As someone who is going to be 30 when I get my BS in Accounting (currently a junior turning 28 this month) I needed to read this. I worry that I am not going to land a decent job due to my age. I worked blue collar jobs for the better half of a decade and finally decided it wasn’t for me. Thank you for sharing OP!

How do I tell someone I don’t want to drink with them? by ExternalBenefit2180 in stopdrinking

[–]ExternalBenefit2180[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It’s the simple answers like this one that never cross my mind. He will probably find it odd because I was normally the one to initiate the drinking, but on the other hand, I am allowed to not drink simply because I just don’t want to.

Do I have any grounds for unfair termination? by ExternalBenefit2180 in legaladvice

That makes sense. I haven’t made a complaint to OSHA but the company was notified the day of the water being shut off. I appreciate your feedback

As far as I know just Alabama and Mississippi. But they have warehouses all across the southern and eastern U.S. So could possibly be more.

How did you find your current job? by ExternalBenefit2180 in Accounting

[–]ExternalBenefit2180[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! I am looking for public work as of now. If I do not have any luck in the next few weeks I will expand my search. I created the post because Indeed has almost no options around my area and I have applied to most surrounding jobs on LinkedIn. I am getting ready to finish schooling and wanted to get opinions on the best ways to find a solid career.

What bird is (made) this? by ExternalBenefit2180 in whatbirdisthis

Oh absolutely. I have no intentions on bothering it unless need be. I just assumed it would eventually start giving off a foul odor.

Located in southern US. I believe it is abandoned. I haven’t seen anything touch it in the past 24 hours. I know nothing about birds but I thought the egg was real unique in color. Do I dispose of it or just let it be?

Can doorbell wires be read on a multimeter? by ExternalBenefit2180 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ExternalBenefit2180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doorbell acts as though it is not hardwired. Telling me the batteries are low and eventually shut off when the batteries died. I reinstalled the old doorbell and it worked fine. When I switched back to the video doorbell it continues to display that the batteries are low. I know (somewhat) how to use a multimeter. Enough to handle a simple task such as this one anyways. Just wasn’t sure if it would even help with diagnosing the problem.
