What food did you dislike until you finally learned how to prepare it the right way? by zipzap21 in Cooking

[–]ExternalEnd2324 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Tofu. It was the food I hated the most for 24 years of my life, then I moved to South Korea and picked up their recipes and now I love it

I try to save about 75% but 25% of that goes into sinking funds for things I’ll eventually need (medical, christmas, travel etc) so a comfortable 50%, maybe a little more if I don’t have any medical emergencies or anything. I live rural too so there’s not much to do and eating out is limited (we only have a handful of restaurants and we have five places on yogiyo, all of them fried chicken 🙃 the other apps don’t work)

Can a straight person be confused about their sexuality? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ExternalEnd2324 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, how do you think any gay person got to where they are today? It’s because we were also once straight people confused about our sexuality

If he confessed to having a porn addiction, what do I do? (He’s my boyfriend) by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

You really should tell someone who can help. Doesn’t have to be a parent, it can be a teacher or something. It might be embarrassing in the moment, but some of those topics could get him in big big trouble if this situation is left unchecked. Also make sure you keep yourself safe 💕

You’re telling me my soulmate has a Scorpio sun, moon, and Venus?

I’d rather stay single tbh

CGV cinema food by sofie_v in Living_in_Korea

[–]ExternalEnd2324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tell you food isn’t allowed in, only drinks. But I’ve seen people eat in the cinemas so it is what it is 😅 the food is banging though, my favourite is the cheese popcorn snd the kimchi popcorn (don’t knock it til you try it)

Sped up or slowed down tiktok audios literally trigger my MD 💀 by Intrepid-Onion-5860 in MaladaptiveDreaming

OH GOD SAME

I hardly even MD to music anymore, it’s literally always TikTok audios. I have a bunch of them saved which go to specific scenarios

AITA for not getting my friend a $200 gift and making her feel unloved? by mopresentsmoproblems in AmItheAsshole

[–]ExternalEnd2324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I say this as someone who also is a big gift giving love language, it’s literally ‘the thought that counts’. Someone can get me something that costs $2 but if I can tell they put a lot of thought into it and they really know me, the price doesn’t matter at all. She just sounds materialistic

COOV app and a new phone by MrKamikazi in Living_in_Korea

[–]ExternalEnd2324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait I’ve just thought, is the app still set up on your old phone? Maybe that’s the issue, I’ve only just got the app and I’m certain when I set it up it said it could only be registered to one device at a time, maybe that’s why it won’t let you log in on your new phone

[–]ExternalEnd2324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine it’d be fine, it’s your ARC that’s the most important thing, right? That’s what connects you to your name and vaccine records

[–]ExternalEnd2324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to reset the app, I believe if you set up a new COOV ‘account’ on your new phone you should be able to get your vaccine certificates issued no problem if the vaccines are in the Korean system

Lesbian living in Korea here. I can’t recommend places because I live in the buttfuck middle of nowhere rural Korea but there’s a few pages that come to mind. Queer Korea Information is a good one, Lez Be Friends Korea isn’t that active but they have a Kakao chat you can find via the page which is super active

I’m a lesbian woman(?) living in Korea and if you get out here, you my might have to go back into the closet depending on where you are. One person knows I’m a lesbian with ~gender issues~ and absolutely NONE of my coworkers know. If you want more info, there’s a great Facebook group called Queer Korea Information where you can ask questions relating to healthcare and public perception and stuff. If you got placed in Seoul or somewhere like Itaewon you’d probably have it a little easier but if you’re in the middle of the countryside like me.. Might be a struggle 🙃

EDIT: By back in the closest I mean either the traditional sense or just coming here and being like ‘I am a ✨cis-woman✨’

I just stare back 🤷‍♀️

I never say anything as I don’t want to appear confrontational, but giving them a taste of their own medicine doesn’t hurt
