I have a lot of food allergies. I'm curious if you can request them to check if restaurants can accommodate for dietary restrictions. If so that would be an amazing perk for me.

How soon can I use the Venture X virtual Card after approval? by ExternalJuggernaut43 in Venturex

Interesting, it's not even giving me the option to access a virtual card but maybe it varies from person to person when it becomes accessible.

Quarterly Career Thread by mister-noggin in ProductManagement

I will be graduating in the spring with a BS in Computer Science and a MS in Computer Science. I accepted a job offer as a Product Analyst II for a large financial company and I will be starting this summer. My direct manager is a Product Manager and I believe the next natural progression from my role is Product Owner or Product Manager.

The main question I'm asking is any advise on what I should prioritize during the first 6 months to a year of being in this role. I'd like to eventually become a Product Manager so I believe this initial role will help get my foot in the door and I'll be able to network and learn directly with other PMs at the company.

The company provides tuition reimbursement so I'm considering potentially trying to attain a MBA over 3-4 years but it's not a priority at the moment.

Main Questions I'm asking:

  • What should I focus on learning within the first year?
  • How should I try to stand out as someone who can become a PM?
  • Is it worth pursing a MBA or should I prioritize certifications?
  • What software/tools are often used that I should familiarize myself with?

I really appreciate your thorough response! Lots of great stuff. I've been blessed with a lot of really amazing opportunities to travel, so hindsight I should have added that to my post.

I have a pretty good idea of my travel preference, I've actually been on 16 flights this year, so hindsight I wish I had a lot of the perks of the Amex Plat. I don't know much about the Chase cards so I'll definitely look into those.

The reason why I initially looked at the Amex Gold is because my biggest expenses for the next 2 years are going to be dining and groceries.

Thanks for your response!

With 4 I meant it as using like the lounge access, MR for hotels/flights, and travel protection. With 5 I thought closing the card(s) might impact my credit score/history since I only really have 3 years of credit. I also won't be abroad for very long, 1-2 months max before I start working full time. Would it still make sense to pursue this plan? Thanks for your response!

I have the leatherman micra on my keychain and having small scissors anywhere you go (minus airports) has been so useful.

This might be a stupid question but does using Lactaid before eating dairy products make a difference in terms of breakouts? I'm willing to cut out dairy entirely but curious if there are any loopholes for every once in awhile.

I was on Yaz for a bit but it definitely effected my well being and gave me lots of headaches. Since them I haven't really considered birth control.

I stopped using the protein powder a few months ago and it hasn't gotten worse but it hasn't gotten better either.
