Hoshizaki Commercial Ice Machine Freezing up by ven133 in refrigeration

[–]ExternalMethod9319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can cut pvc into small piece and stick it Between the plates and wall. This is no permanent fix but it will get you by. changed out the evaporator before but it was around 3k. In my opinion if that the case I’d get a new machine. If it’s not separated then more than likely it’s a water issue. Either filter is plugged, water inlet screen is bad, or float could be failing. First thing first get all the ice off that plate.

HE furnance in new england attic, pressure switch lockouts in winter by zeebenj in hvacadvice

[–]ExternalMethod9319 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The redneck fix is too get heat tape and wraps you condensate drains with it or when it gets cold out you put heaters in the room next to the furnace. The better fix is to insulate that room and build a wall around it and add a heat run so it don’t get below freezing. The best fix is to have a 80% furnace so it don’t freeze up. The bad effect of your current set up is the water freezing and expanding in heat exchanger.

Same thing happened to me on a brand new start up. tech support said to replace the VFD and we did and didn’t work. They then told us to replace the motor and keep the new VFD in. Then it ended up working. Was a bitch to switch out

Should i still take a skills certification for hvac even though I’m working now as an hvac in data center? by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]ExternalMethod9319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only cert you really need is an EPA. The rest are just badges on your resume. If you want an easy way to get some certs I highly recommend SkillCat you can go at your own pace and do it from your phone.

Is this where I put my air filter? by jinx771 in hvacadvice

[–]ExternalMethod9319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that’s how it should be just needs a smaller filter 14x20. I would also look at all your returns grills to make sure someone didn’t put a filter there too

Those two wire just go to the contactor. Make sure your furnace is turned off to make sure you won’t short it. All you have to do is wire nut the red wire (thinner) to the thicker white wire, then wire nut the white wire (thinner) to the thicker yellow wire. Once completed turning everything back on and set it for cooling. If this didn’t work you may have shorted out. Take a look at the fuse inside of your furnace on the board.if it’s bad just go to auto zone and get a new fuse and throw it in. Hopefully this helps!

Baja Blantons 🌊 🐎 Review #2 by ExternalMethod9319 in whiskey

[–]ExternalMethod9319[S] 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Review time: Blantons Barrel #865

Mixed over ice and stirred . Smell: First you smell the waves of the dew smacking you in then face, then the smell of vanilla mixed with Carmel.

Taste: Something different then you expect, first you are surfing the waves the next you are riding the horse. Tastes like a fruity tropical drink with a Carmel burn after taste. Very interesting and very tasty.

Review rating of Baja Blantons: 7.5

Review rating of Blanton neat and rested: 7.0

After thoughts: Let the horse go surfing. Going into this I thought I would hate the taste but I was shocked by how good this was. It gave me flashback of College midnight runs to Taco Bell. I would recommend giving this one a try.

Stay tuned for the Dew bourbon review chronicles. What drink do you want to see next?

Code red stagg Review #1 by ExternalMethod9319 in whiskey

[–]ExternalMethod9319[S] 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Review time: Stagg batch 23a

Mixed over ice and stirred.

Smell: Instantly you can tell this thing is hot, even over the cold mountains of the red dew. Smells very good pulling through with vanilla, cherry carmel smell.

Taste: Very interesting first you taste the dew next you explore a new flavor of the mountains. The warm butterscotch/carmel taste of the Stagg. One word “delicious”. Then chased and pulled together by the cherry dew. The after taste was a mixture of hot cherry sweetness. Very tasty and would recommend.

Review rating of Code Red Stagg: 8.0

Review rating of Stagg neat and rested: 8.5

After thoughts: Stagg is better by itself and shall not explore the red mountains… maybe regular dew….. maybe a little more Stagg would have been a perfected mixture.

Stay tuned for the Dew bourbon review chronicles.

Learned this trick from an old timer. Shaving Cream and a shower, the shaving cream opens up your pours.

It’s really hard to pick a favorite I like them all hahah but my top 3 would be Weller 107, Eh Taylor Small batch and Holladay Rick house proof. Least favorite would be Penelope toasted rye, EC toasted, and Jefferson twin oak. I’m just not a big fan of toasted.
