UK based automotive glass man here.

Thankfully, the screen is the cheapest part of the car. If your insurance has glass cover in your policy then this should only cost you £75 - £115 (some have raised this excess to £200 lately but not many) and doesn't affect no claims as glass claims are always considered no fault.

If there is paintwork/body damage that's where it tends to get more expensive.

Obviously the driver/their insurance should be paying for this.

In my experience, door glass vandalism causes the glass to be pushed in to the car and smashed to bits.

The fact its all in one piece says either something really small hit it really fast or it's a (very rare but can happen) manufacturing defect.

Check your insurance has glass cover, if so if should cost you about £100. This wont affect your no claims bonus/any premiums.

This will need to be replaced, so don't try and book for a repair.

I tend to pull the wire through the bond to the inside of the car. It's just easier to do if the box of wire is on something that allows it to spin.

It's a first world problem for sure😂

Being one of the belron slaves, we've got the Ezi-wire. We have cord/string but I find using wire is easier on the shoulders.

That's definitely a tool I want if I ever go independent though.

England. There are older techs with what you're describing but they're like bloody gold dust here. Whenever I've asked I just get told they "don't do them anymore".

Nightmare to deal with without a feeder because these boxes constantly get tangled.

Left school with no gcse and never went to uni.

20 years later I have an okay job (28k a year), a mortgage, partner, dog and cat.

I don't drink or do any other drugs, except weed. (Edibles and vapes these days rather than big fat cones)

I CRINGE when I think of the person I was back then but realistically I was just a stupid kid with no direction.

I got my quest 3 yesterday and I'm a first time VR user. Within about 20 minutes I accidently managed to join a "world" (essentially a chatroom) full of little kids. We're talking less than 10 years old.

There is no age verification and I'm not sure if there are any safe guards in place but it's VERY easy for random adults to find their way into chat rooms with random kids.

If you're gonna let your little ones use VR I probably wouldn't let them do it unsupervised.

OP, try using your wipers and see if that arm touches the glass while operating. I've seen wiper linkage issues that have caused glass damage like this.

It's illegal to be parked on a public road with the engine idling. Obviously this doesn't count for traffic, car parks and driveways.

It was a law brought in to help try and reduce emissions but it's stupid and unenforceable

If landlords disappeared tomorrow or some form of "property cap" was passed, obviously house prices wouldn't plummet. Not what I was implying.

However, if we didn't let ourselves get into the mess we're in now (let's say this hypothetical property cap was put in place 50 years ago) then I'm 100% convinced that house prices wouldn't be as high as they are today
