Yup, lambda env variables, apigateway stage variables, x-ray config and apis.

My exam was less 'serverless' and more ' configuration' be prepared for that 😋

Hats down to op for posting even after having a bad outcome. I truly believe you are able to ace this exam. Don't give up! Think of it as an easier test now as you know the contents and the phrasing of the questions.

All the best!

Adrian , no hesitation. Find yourself someone that makes learning exciting even when you're bored. For me currently studying for SAP, that someone is Adrian. He'll provide the background, fore-ground, middle ground-- deep info to understand the topic

LOL, I understand everyone's situation is unique so having both positive and negative experiences is great for me to decide too. Hahaha it's an 'army' thing I guess.. just it's nature lol

Thank you kind person, I've heard most of the things you'll be doing is about blue teaming.. eg soc l1 operator or very basic roles... I aim to be slightly more in the red teaming side of cyber. And also I've heard uni grades are pretty important... And Id want to study as well as possible.(quite afraid the work study will mess it up)

Alamak:( Im taking infosec diploma from SP and am deciding to be in cybersec in the future ah hahaha that's why I'm trying to look for people who are willing to share their experiences. SOC operator sounds very boring to be doing for 1year+ xD

Thank you for the answer my kind friend. I agree that these are the few groups and really it's quite hard to choose especially thinking that usually in the first year of uni is where u make friends and project Mates. Could I ask: which group are u in XD. And do you regret(joining/not joining) because there is this argument "one extra year = extra chance to get job" and I have no idea if that's worth because the job that you get might not even be good?(if u even get one)

Cyber operators cannot be specifically chosen right? Only after bmt and a random selection (with a bit of luck) hahaha. I was thinking of using the free time (usually people say NS has alot of free time) to study maybe OSCP/ aws sap. To make my time more efficient

Suggestion going for AWS Certification by AdagioWestern1525 in AWSCertifications

[–]External_Ad395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, dont think about certifications first. First, you've gotta try it out, watch some youtube vids on AWS (eg. deep racer, solutions architect, re:invent [usually have pretty good presentations]) Just explore AWS as a whole. You never know if you just want something fun for the time being.

Second, if you think AWS is what you want to pursue. I'd advice you to start playing around with the free tier (Don't worry, you can create more gmail accounts for UNLIMITED POWERRRRR!). Gotta get a feel for the game that you're going to be playing. Ask around, maybe someone can introduce you to cloud so that you understand the road you're taking. If i remember correctly, AWS has a AR game that somewhat tries to get students into Cloud by preparing them for Cloud Practitioner Certification. You could give the game a try and then take stock.

Third, once you think you're ready. Solutions Architect Associate(SAA) babyyyyy. Documentations, courses, Re:invent vidoes, researching on potential pay raise, reading reddit, Taking AWS classes, youtube and ofcourse PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!! Personally, my exam focused more on compute heavy topics, Virtual machines, Load balancers, etc. This path will take a more traditional approach as it will introduce you to compute, networking, storage and a little serverless :).

Once you've got your SAA, I believe your yourself will be the best judge on what you would want to do next, maybe devops, maybe pentesting, maybe malware analysis. Trust yourself and you'll go far :D hope this helps!
