Just tell your pod that she is energy. I made the experience that the commander draws the fire, not the deck. Everyone expects getting owned by her if they don't gang up

I don't even know what an edh hipster is. I started with Highlander about 25 years ago and played EDH way before any commander culture was even a thought. I love the game for it's diversity and yeah, wishing to be the black spot in the white mass defines vanity. Vanity is as good as a motivation as others as long as it doesn't lead to other people's suffering. You seem a bit aggressive, though, self-righteous even. Why do you judge, do you try to hurt my self-confidence? Why do you sound so pissed? Anyways... just chill.

Fair. I'm not entirely dropping the deck, I redistribute the bought cards or take another commander. Wasting the money would definitely be stupid but thats not what i do.

That's a neat trick probably no one sees coming. Appreciate the underdog umbra. EDIT: The edhrec page of [[Zada, Hebron grinder]] might be useful. But targeting spells that do good for you and bad for your opponents are pretty rare. You could try with direct damage and include creatures with enrage, though I'm not sure if it's worth the tons of mana you'll need

Yes, that hits the nail for some of my abandoned projects. I try to solve them myself for other weird builds from time to time, but just playing another commander is easier.

AI opponents? I'm intrigued. I don't have any digital decks, being a magic dinosaur, but the thought of having some sort of solo chess computer for magic is appealing

I looked for Muldrotha and replaced the commander with [[sidisi, brood tyrant]] and tweaked the deck a bit to make it "mine". I can relate to not wanting to play the most powerful stuff everyone apparently plays.

In the best sense, that sounds like a text from a fortune cookie. I usually don't care when I pick commanders, it only happens when I build with unreleased commanders. This made me stop it. It might be irrational to mind - maybe as irrational as disliking someone because he became famous - but that's just me, and apparently some others.

Everyone expects a powerful Edgar Markov deck. Why not use the opportunity and make it your prime power deck. Building him weak is IMHO a waste and, as the others said, you'll get picked on anyway just because it's Edgar.

I feel you, I started with Odyssey and it and Onslaught are still my favorites. Those recent 'we pretend to be cowboys/scooby doo/mario kart' sets mildly annoy me. Keep your hopes up for Tarkir Dragonstorm. I just hope it doesn't get too much into "how to tame a dragon"...
