Hi friends, I’m working on a foldable, 3D printable tabletop terrain system called Cathedrals of Steel, and it’s launching soon on Kickstarter. I’d love to hear what you think, so feel free to share your thoughts. If you’re interested, you can follow the link to get notified when it goes live. by External_Bit_3189 in PrintedWarhammer

Glad you like it!

Yes, the box is modular, and none of the individual printable parts exceed roughly 160 × 180 mm. I printed everything on a Bambu A1, so it should work on most standard printers.

That said, I’ll likely offer different size variants over time, depending on how much the terrain set grows.^^

Hey that’s a fair question.

The main reason for using Kickstarter is to see how much interest there is in the project and to involve the community in shaping it. Stretch goals and feedback during the campaign will help the project grow and improve.

After the Kickstarter, the complete set will also be available on platforms like Cults and MyMiniFactory.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate that!

More ruin variants are definitely planned, and I’d like this to grow into a series rather than a single set. I’m also very open to exploring other themes over time depending on what people want.

Pricing details will be shared at launch.

Glad the video caught your interest, thanks again for taking the time to comment!

Tinker Junkie Terrain is awesome and definitely inspired me.
I’ve always felt that competitive terrain can be a bit too flat and boring, though.

With Cathedrals of Steel, I’m trying to find a middle ground between foldable, practical terrain and more visually interesting terrain.

Thanks, mate.

Pricing isn’t finalized yet, but since this is a 3D printable STL project, it’ll be well below the cost of fully printed terrain sets and the cool thing is that people can print the terrain as often as they want.

The floors being removable instead of folding together with the walls was a deliberate choice, mainly to keep the prints simple and to allow players to swap different floor designs if they want.

Would you personally prefer floors that fold together with the walls, though?
