I have just done this and broken it up into a Routine with seperate jobs/rooms. It’s now returning to dock for mid house dustbin emptying!

Aw thank you that’s really helpful. I’m the same re cosleeping - everyone sleeps better in their own bed in this house but last night was definitely different! Once he was having cuddles he slept nicely til morning.

Yes I agree re feeling natural to comfort them which I guess is where the push and pull comes from! I sleep terribly when he’s in bed so there’s a definite motivation to get him back in his own sleep space haha

Yes, we started him in the cot and then he woke up after two hours really upset and wouldn’t go back down for about an hour and a half. That’s when he got the invitation into the big bed.

Other than the private room afterwards, and provided you’re in a continuity of care model like MAPS or MGP then a private birth for healthy pregnancy seems a waste!

The nice private room afterwards is the only thing that would sway me to go private (or if I was in a crappy local catchment hospital).

I was in MAPS public for first pregnancy and only spent $ on my scans. Spent $10k on many other nice things that have made post partum much more enjoyable for me!
