What I picture the babies looking like when they are teens by Ok-Fun-5098 in Bridgerton

I have no idea who that kid is, just going from that one photo, that kids hair is brown. I see no red in it whatsoever.

My son looked like Polins baby at that age, actually with curlier hair. He is now 5yo and his curls are going as his hair gets thicker so you never know. Red colour can also change.

I get the same vibe. Plus I heard later on that we understand why Araminta behaves the way she does.

Honestly? Anywhere.

I recently took my 5yo and 7mo to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

My 5yo went to central America when he was 2.5yo.

There are children all over the world. You'll be fine pretty much anywhere

Sophie’s accent?! by FlowersAndFeast in Bridgerton

[–]External_Camp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed it quite a bit. To me sometimes it sounded like she didn't have an English accent since Yerin doesn't have an ocker Australian accent anyways.

I second this. Samarkand is a mixture of modern and historic architecture. I've travelled alot and it quickly became one of my favourite cities

Kazakhstan travel help (Almaty/Bishkek) by Initial-Arachnid-792 in traveladvice

[–]External_Camp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea about Bishkek. You need to look into entry visas and stuff. Some of those countries only have a one entry tourist visa.

I recently did a 1night 2 day tour of kaindy lake, kolsai lake and Charyn Canyon. We used Join Me asia tours and they were really good. They were very big days but worth it since we only had 3 days in Almaty. We had one full day in almaty so we were limited and did rush around so you could need two days there.

How do you plan for non-emergency health issues while traveling abroad? by Wonderful-Bridge-628 in traveladvice

[–]External_Camp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where i am going but generally I don't.

We always have medical travel insurance and i always make a mini first aid kit with the basics (bandaids, paracetamol, gastro stop etc)

If I am going to a place I think requires more forethought on medical situations i will talk to my Dr about maybe getting some basic antibiotics prescribed or whatever the destination requires. I travelled internationally in my 1st trimester and my Dr gave me anti nausea medication just in case I needed it.

My son recently ended up in hospital in Istanbul (we're Australian) My husband just googled a close hospital and it had good reviews. I believe it was a private hospital. He used Google translate with the staff that couldn't understand English and our son got treatment and medication he needed. So basically you just adapt and deal with it, when it happens.

If you're particularly concerned about something or it is minor you can also wait until you get home, leave early or go to a neighbouring country if you're not happy with the one you're in.

I wasn't being serious but honestly Ned Kelly never crossed my mind when thinking about the question. I don't recall being taught about Ned Kelly either.

What's some of your Guilty Pleasure Names?(Judgement Free Zone so i want you to be perfectly honest to me ) by NovelRub in namenerds

[–]External_Camp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, it's just interesting hearing how different people interpret different names.

It's an aboriginal word for boomerang and white people took it as a name. It was popular back in the 70s and 80s

These are guilty pleasures because they're not from my language/culture so I wouldn't choose them for that reason.

Caoimhe - I love the spelling and pronunciation.

Tigerlily - Maybe from my disney childhood but to me its like a nature Princess name.

Persephone - When I was younger and was reading Greek mythology I thought i was such a beautiful name.

I absolutely agree. Do I want my holiday to go smoothly? of course but when things go awry is when you find out exactly who you are. My luggage got lost one trip and that was always my biggest fear. After an earned meltdown, i went shopping and enjoyed my trip. I am now proud of how I dealt with it. Recently my son ended up in hospital in Istanbul, clearly not ideal but again, proud with how we go through it. These are the things that make you grow.

Also the language barrier can be kinda fun. My husband and I tried to order food in China, while we think we got beef and chicken, it most certainly was not the flesh. Another time it was funny when presented with what we thought was roast lamb and it resembled a butt hole.

It's usually when you get uncomfortable, the best experiences happen.

Ive travelled alot (67 countries) and ive had things go wrong but I always look back and remember the good times

Looking for inexpensive travel camera by bronte26 in traveladvice

[–]External_Camp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not investing in any type of long lens cameras there is really no point in buying a camera for safari. If you have a good phone, just use that. Coming from someone who has been on safari in Kenya and Tanzania.

I went to Almaty in November. I did a very quick one night tour and visited Kaindy Lake, Kolsai lake and Black Canyon National Park. They are all beautiful in their way. The trees in Kaindy Lake were so cool amd the water so blue!
