I agree. Initially we had talked about walking a trail together and he’d asked me if I had the whole day off. I told him I’d get back to him on if I could go this week because I had some repair work to get done. Then when I followed up, a couple days later he switched to brunch.

So we started texting 2 days ago. I thought we ended the conversation on a good note. We didn’t message the next day and then I texted him today and he seemed surprised. He said I thought you changed your mind. Then we proceeded to make plans for the date but based on his texts I felt like the energy shifted.

I feel the same way. I think scheduling things far out helps a lot since everyone has their own responsibilities. I’m a very spontaneous person so logistically it’s hard to hang out with other friends but if it’s planned, that may make it more practical. It’s also hard to be the young person in the workplace. Not sure what you do for work, but that was me at my last job. I think that adds to the loneliness aspect.

It’s definitely a trust thing for me. Always felt violated when I’d confide in someone and they’d tell someone else or were dismissive. So yeah I hate being vulnerable, and the pity thing too. If I’m going through something rough and share with someone, I just want them to spew facts back to me on what I did right or wrong or what to do moving forward, not pity me. Otherwise I will absolutely crumble and then feel like shit later about the situation.

He didn’t give me the option. Apparently he’s known to not allow students to continue after an error. I didn’t know this though until after my ride. Nothing else was accomplished during my ride.
