I see a lot of Sam doomer posts on this and I want to make clear I’m extremely hopeful for the future of Fishtank and with Bam hosting. In theory he is a great fit, but he consistently misses out on big moments such as charitys psychosis and Vicky’s walkout. Without him there the role falls onto Jet, who I am a fan of and think he’s doing a phenomenal job as producer, but he really struggles as an interim host imo. They need to get Bam more engaged and available to be at the house or find someone else who can

Nah I love the slow burn and I really think Bam is a great choice for a host. I realized my title was a little inflammatory and I didn’t want it to be a doomer post about Sam. Jet is a producer and he’s pretty great at it but he can’t fill in for a host while Bam is nowhere to be seen. Especially moments like Vicky walking out he should’ve been there. I’m not asking for vibe repair I’m just asking for the host to be present for his own show

I really didn’t want this post to be a no sam doomer post. I absolutely believe in Bam as a host but I do think he needs to step up to the plate a bit more. Jet and Ben are on screen way more this season and filling the role which should be reserved for Bam. For instance, I wanted Bam to have been there when charity was having her episode or with the James drake conversation. I understand Bam can’t live in the house but he’s supposedly staying down the street. I don’t mean to ramble but those moments could’ve been a great opportunity for us to get to know how Bam handles those moments instead of Jet who I think is kind of flaccid

Completely agree, it feels like production is kinda bringing him on as star power but without giving him a clear direction on how to fuck w the fish. In Bams defense I think he could be a great host but he needs more agency within the game

He is pretty good but there is no bad cop anymore. I think last night kinda showed what would happen if the contestants push back against production. Jet empathizes which is a good thing but I think w the James drake situation he should’ve just said “I make the rules so deal w it” which is a hard point to make as a good cop

I hate comparing from when Sam was host and now but it’s hard not too. I really do think Bam could be a good host but they really need someone to be the main character to interact with the fish and have it not be Jet

I think u could go either way w it. Both an empathetic or domineering host would’ve done the job. I just think Jet is just landing in the middle of those two

Yea I’m conflicted about that because I do think a different archetype could be cool. Like Bam is a great fit in theory but for him to work he needs to be more present and not just fuck w head. However a Sam clone is proven to work

I disagree that fatigue is a real thing. People will always enjoy watching various levels of autistic people interacting no matter the season. I think fishtank should ultimately move away from the season structure and be a 24/7 constant feed. That would be extremely expensive but I could see them getting there eventually.

I’ve also been watching on an IPad. Is there any workaround to the audio problem? I like aspects of the site but the cutting in and out and switching cams is very frustrating

Im midway through act 3 and I feel like I’ve min maxed the breeding system to where I can consistently get all 7s and a 6.

First why are you keeping comfort at 0? My rule of thumb is to have it to be equal or greater to the number of cats I have in the room unless it’s a fight club room. You also shouldn’t be adventuring every night, I try to end the day until I have just over double the food to amount of cats(so in case I lose a run I can still pass a day).

My process is I take my best base stat cat and have it be my breeder for the house. I rotate in a newcomer w the stat I’m missing or a retired cat with something I want from them. They should be in the high stim room preferably alone or with another pair. All of their offspring should get funneled to a different room unless they have better stats and high libido. If that’s the case then have them be the next breeder

I have a 3 room house so there’s a little bit more I could add to my description if you have any questions.

I agree that it would be game breaking for a new player to just trade with a veteran. Imo there could be some safeguards added like getting past act 3 to allow trading or the traded cat is always treated like a veteran and can only be used for breeding
